CovetED’s Exclusive Interview with Marcel Wanders

Marcel Wanders is one of the leading product and interior designers, with thousands of iconic projects under his name. After working with numerous luxury brands like Baccarat and Louis Vuitton, Marcel Wanders announced a new project with Barovier & Toso during Salone del Mobile 2019. CovetED had the pleasure of catching up with the designer at the brand’s stand during the fair.

According to the designer, the best thing about his work is being able to do something unique and new every day – “I am a proud designer, and as interior designers, we are lucky when we can do the things we love every day”.

Marcel Wanders and Barovier & Toso have been working together for the past seven years, creating one-of-a-kind pieces such as rotating chandeliers or glass puppets. Wanders felt they should create something even more incredible – the ‘Adonis’ chandelier.

“We all agreed that we were going to do a chandelier like no other, a chandelier that should have been made a hundred years ago and that would stay with us forever, a piece that is filled with contemporary ideas.”

‘Adonis’ is a modular chandelier, with several shapes and sizes, as well as different materials and decorations.

“We are really looking forward to develop this chandelier to be an eternal icon for the world”
