Three (Plus One) Events To Celebrate Visionnaire’s Anniversary ♦ 2019 is a year of anniversaries for IPE-Visionnaire: the mother company IPE celebrates its 60th since its founding, while Visionnaire, its exclusive brand, reaches its 15th year of success. During the FuoriSalone 2019, these milestones were marked by a sequence of original initiatives. CovetED was there and is now ready to tell you everything about the celebrations this luxury brand! “Decalogue“: a manifesto of intent and collectable book, took place on Monday, 8 April, at Visionnaire Design Gallery – by invitation only. This was an exceptional project that took on the character of a signature book published in a limited edition, to showcase the ten basic, indispensable values of the company. The writings provide a narrative of the historical roots of the brand while taking stock of its present identity and outlining the ambitious trajectories of its future. The volume – titled “Decalogue” – is the result of a range of different contributions: editing by Barbara Brondi & Marco Rainò, photography by Delfino Sisto Legnani, and critical essays by Felix Burrichter, Leon Sun and Natalia Timascheva.
“Correspondences”: a photography exhibition by Delfino Sisto Legnani happened at Wunderkammer Visionnaire – Piazza Cavour 3. The exhibition, curated by Marco Morandini, was composed by photographies of Delfino Sisto Legnani, that has inspired himself in the ten values of the “Decalogue”. The exhibition was then organized in a sequence of poetic diptychs, also the protagonists of a solo show in the “Wunderkammer” of the Visionnaire flagship store in Milan. Correspondences, associations, photographic images that express a concept, the discovery of a visual counterpart. The ten programmatic precepts are translated into imagery through which horizons of meaning are expanded. The worlds of Visionnaire are universes to explore in an infinite time.
“VISION“: an architectural and multimedia installation at Visionnaire Design Gallery, Piazza Cavour 3. Curated by Marco Morandini with technical support of “MyBossWas.” The historic flagship store on Piazza Cavour, a space of 2000 square meters created inside the former Cinema Cavour designed in 1962 by Vittorio Viganò, came alive with a surprising architectural installation titled “Vision” featuring a series of video projections created for the occasion: this part of the space, poetic and theatrical at the same time, contained the brand’s offerings of furniture and accessories, with a specific focus on fifteen Visionnaire “icons,” a tribute to the brand’s history of invention and production at the 15th anniversary of its founding.
The 10 videos that interpret the ten values of the Decalogue have been created as multimedia artworks that convey the viewer into an immersive psychedelic voyage. Each video captures a concept, starting with a symbolic material subject that is transformed into a pattern, a forceful metaphorical composition. Hands, bodies, natural elements and architecture weave the tenets of the decalogue into visual form.
Roger Dubuis: a special partner with Visionnaire for the week that celebrated design, on exhibition at the Visionnaire Design Gallery. Roger Dubuis has been at the forefront of contemporary Haute Horlogerie since 1995. Driven by an avant-garde spirit, a firm commitment to being part of a tribe, and a penchant for strong mechanical content, the Maison’s rampant creativity was unleashed onto extravagant, disruptive design exemplified by serial innovations. Systematically pushing both technical and aesthetic boundaries, boldness and extravagance are the brand’s signatures expressed through the Maison’s favourite platform of expression: Excalibur. Whether it’s about code-breaking designs or thundering technology, Roger Dubuis shake up the watchmaking world at large.
The stand at Salone del Mobile 2019 and the new collection
For the 58th Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, at Rho Fiera, Visionnaire returned to Pavilion 5 with a space designed by Alessandro La Spada in collaboration with the creative director Eleonore Cavalli. Organized in 15 settings, the overall stand took its cue from reflections on the environment, seen as the result of an intense dialogue between nature and artifice.
In the architectural design, this orientation influences the form of the diagonal wings that outline the visit itinerary, around the central lounge area that takes on the function of a theatrical “transparent lung.” The new Visionnaire collection, titled Anniversary for the occasion and presented in the company’s spaces at the fair, includes over 80 products, mostly created for indoor/outdoor residential projects but also covering a specific selection for the contract sector.
The art direction by Eleonore Cavalli develops a horizon of new proposals, the result of work commissioned to the Italian designers Alessandro La Spada, Roberto Lazzeroni, Marco Piva, Armando Bruno – in a duo with Alberto Torres – Mauro Lipparini, Giuseppe Viganò, Fabio Bonfà, and the international designers Steve Leung and Maria Serebryanaya with Roberta Verteramo. Moving forward with its focus on bespoke craftsmanship and maniacal attention to detail, Visionnaire introduces several important creative and stylistic innovations in Anniversary.
In the area of experimentation, the combination of different materials generates results of great impact: innovative cement coatings that broadcast luminous highlights from bronze are combined with “inlays” of “liquid” metals on marble surfaces, while precious and exclusive seeds – like the 4 seasons – alternate with abonos fossil wood with an open-pore finish. Among the unusual decorative themes, the silhouettes of mountain peaks return in the irregular embroidery of portions of furniture, taking on the identity of a visual signature to enhance headboards, for example, or the textile shades that complete some of the light sources.
