Victorian Bookcase by Ralph Lauren Home
This Victorian Renaissance Revival bookcase is inspired by an English design from the 19th century. A stepped cornice protrudes over the three arched-glass-fronted doors and carved half-columns on the upper section. The tripartite bottom cabinet features three inset panel doors, carved half-columns and a stepped-and-moulded base. Solid walnut finished with worn ebonized paint produces a rich patina.
Ralph Pucci International is a luxury furniture, lighting and mannequin company based in New York City. What began as a family business in the 1950s fabricating mannequins has grown to a gallery and showroom regarded as one of the best in the world, with outposts now in Miami and a brand new Los Angeles gallery that opened in March 2017. The mannequins include innovative and avant-garde collaborations with fashion designers, illustrators and supermodels including Ruben Toledo, Anna Sui, Christy Turlington, Maira Kalman and Rebecca Moses. The mannequins are featured in high-end department stores and boutiques worldwide including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom.

One of the historical names of North-American and New York’s Interior Design is Peter Marino. He founded in 1978 in New York City the Peter Marino Architect PLLC, an internationally acclaimed architecture, planning and design studio that also has several offices around the United States of America in major cities like Philadelphia or Miami.
His work has helped redefine modern luxury worldwide, emphasizing materiality, texture, scale, light and the constant dialogue between interior and exterior. That’s why this worldwide celebrated designer is widely considered one of the Top Designers of the World and his services are requested by the most iconic names in the fashion, businesses and art industries! Thomas O’Brien created Aero Studios in 1992 alongside William Sofield. Sofield left 3 years later and since then Thomas is the sole owner of the company. He is known for his “warm modernism” and the way he mixes vintage and modern in his interior design. O’Brien has established partnerships with many important American brands, even though his main focus lays on the design of private residences. He designed bath plumbing for Waterworks, textiles for Lee Jofa, tableware for Reed & Barton and designed a boutique for Emporio Armani, just to name a few.

The Alex Papachristidis Interiors was created in 1987 under the name Anderson, Papachristidis Interiors, a partnership between Alex Papachristidis and Leslie Anderson. When Anderson left in the mid-nineties and after the joining of Antoinette Raeymaekers in 1996 (and her departure in 2004), Papachristidis became the only owner of the company. He is known for his modern eye and described as an eclectic traditionalist.

Interior designer Dan Fink is the founder of the Dan Fink Studio. Fink has a high interest in history, art and the new American living. The work of the studio focus in residential and commercial projects, not only in New York but also in San Francisco, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Palo Alto, Maui and New Zealand. Their main purpose is to deliver an interior design that is both classic and modern.

Jamie Drake and Caleb Anderson are two award-winning interior designers based in New York that set their goal at creating a luxurious and refined design in order to bring sophistication into the world of interior design. They created Drake/Anderson. Their trademark is their eclecticism, always proving that personality is crucial in the world of interior design. If Drake is praised for being one of the first designers to make Modernism famous in interior design, Anderson is capable of bringing a vast number of historical periods together.
The unexpected use of purple in a nineteenth-century Manhattan apartment
In 1992 Brian McCarthy founded his homonymous New York-based company Brian J. McCarthy Inc. Since then he has been decorating residences not only in New York but also all around the world. He was responsible for the design of the State Rooms in the Winfield House in 2005.

Based in New York City, Joe Nahem has been working for over 30 years in the industry. After the death of Tom Fox in 2003, with whom he created Fox-Nahem Associates, Joe Nahem has continued his path creating pieces that embody elegance and luxury. The materials he uses come from different parts of the world such as South Africa, Switzerland and Brooklyn. He is the interior designer that decorated Robert Downey Jr.’s house in the Hamptons.

Based in New York City, Frank de Biasi Interiors was created in 2006. Frank de Biasi is known for his holistic approach which allied to his love for travelling makes his interior design unique. He uses colour and lighting as some of the main characteristics of his work.

Interior designers John and Christine Gachot created Gachot Studios in 2012. The couple is experts not only in interior design but also in real estate and art direction. They seek to create a refined aesthetic with a strong sense of place. Their values lay on elegance and simplicity with special attention to detail.
The Thompson Hotel in New York, Tribeca. This hotel went through a makeover performed by the Gachot Studios. The atmosphere created goes back to midcentury furniture with the glamorous touch of black and gold.
Ike Kligerman Barkley is a New York and San Francisco based architecture and interior design company formed by interior designers and architects Thomas A. Kligerman, John Ike and Joel Barkley that has been in the business for over 25 years. They focus mainly on the quality of the materials as well as in creating and decorating places where any style can fit.

Nate Berkus is an American interior designer, author, TV host and television personality. He runs the Chicago interior design firm Nate Berkus Associates and has been a regularly featured guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show, offering design advice to viewers, as well as coordinating surprise make-overs for people’s homes. He has released numerous lines of products and authored several books.
Nathan Jay “Nate” Berkus was born September 17, 1971, in Orange County, California and grew up mainly in suburban Minneapolis. He is Jewish and openly gay. He attended Cushing Academy, a boarding school in Ashburnham, Massachusetts. He started working in design immediately after leaving high school and interned at Dominique Aurientis in Paris and Sotheby’s in Chicago. Berkus graduated from Lake Forest College near Chicago in 1994 with degrees in French and Sociology. Berkus founded the company, Nate Berkus Associates, in Chicago in 1995.
Marmol Radziner founded 1989 is a Los Angeles-based design-build practice founded and led by architects Leo Marmol, FAIA and Ron Radziner, FAIA. The firm offers a full range of design services, including architectural design, programming, master planning, historic restoration, landscape design, interior design, and furniture design. Marmol Radziner specializes in residential, restoration, multifamily, commercial, retail, hospitality, educational, and community projects.
Following the “master builder” tradition, Marmol Radziner integrates design services with a variety of construction capabilities. The firm houses a wide range of in-house skills, including architects, metal fabricators, carpenters, cabinet-makers and construction crew. With Marmol Radziner Shops the firm frequently designs and fabricates original furnishings specific to each project through its in-house cabinet and metal shops. In addition, the firm also designs and produces several Marmol Radziner furniture available for custom order. The firm is also licensed to reproduce R.M. Schindler’s line of furnishings designed for his seminal 1921-22 Kings Road Schindler House in West Hollywood.

The partnership of Howard Hirsch and Michael Bedner began when Howard hired Michael as an entry-level blueprint drafter. Initially focusing their work on projects local to the United States, HBA began work on the Beverly Rodeo Hotel in Beverly Hills and Chez Voltaire, a restaurant in Florida. Over time, HBA expanded its work internationally, establishing an office in Hong Kong and later an office in London.
Timothy Corrigan is an interior designer with offices in Los Angeles and Paris. His firm, Timothy Corrigan, Inc. specializes in interior design and incorporates antiques into most of its projects. Some of his work is in the homes of European and Middle Eastern royalty, and Hollywood celebrities. Corrigan has been named one of Architectural Digest’s AD100: World’s Top Interior Designers and Architects.
He has been featured in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, In Style, Traditional Home Town & Country, and on television internationally. He has appeared[9] on HGTV’s Million Dollar Rooms, HGTV’s Top Ten, LXTV’s International Open House – Paris, Extra. He was chosen to design the Architectural Digest green room at the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards.
Mary McDonald is an award-winning, internationally published Los Angeles-based interior designer. She is one of the stars of Bravo TV’s “Million Dollar Decorators” & “Property Envy” series and is consistently ranked as one of House Beautiful’s Top 100 Designers. She is the author of “Interiors: The Allure of Style” from Rizzoli publishing and has been honoured as one of the top 25 designers by Veranda Magazine.
Her licensed product lines include an acclaimed fabric collection for F. Schumacher & Company, lighting for Robert Abbey, rugs for Patterson, Flynn and Martin, and furniture for Chaddock Home.
Martyn Lawrence Bullard is a multi-award-winning Los Angeles based interior designer and is renowned for his broad range of styles and eclectic, yet sophisticated and always inviting interiors. Martyn has been consistently named as one of the world’s top 100 interior designers by Architectural Digest, featured permanently in Elle Décor’s A-List, named one of the top 25 designers by Hollywood Reporter, and part of the Luxe Interiors + Design Gold List 2012.
Though recognized in the US mainly as one of Bravo TV’s Million Dollar Decorators, his newest television show, Hollywood Me (which airs in the UK), has recently won the National Reality TV Awards for Best Self-Improvement/ Makeover Show. Martyn’s extraordinary attention to detail and commitment to quality have won him international acclaim, as well as the respect of such A-List clientele as Tommy Hilfiger, Cher, Ellen Pompeo, Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, to name a few.
Carpenters Workshop Gallery produces and exhibits functional sculptures by international rising and already established artists and designers going outside their traditional territories of expression.
The gallery is actively involved in the research and production of the limited edition works exhibited. The choices are guided by the research of an emotional, artistic and historical relevance; a relevance that appears as an evidence.
In 2015 Carpenters Workshop Gallery | New York was opened. This new space confirms today the leadership and dominant position of the gallery in the international territory of art and design.
The gallery relies on the partnership of friends Julien Lombrail & Loic Le Gaillard. They first opened a space in London’s Chelsea in 2006 in a former carpenter’s workshop; which was followed with a second space in Mayfair in 2008.
The United States is a country that has a huge and rich tradition with craftsmanship. It is often said that America was built on steel, and that should be believed. The American people rely a lot on the middle class, blue-coloured jobs for the maintenance of the society and the economy. And that reflects a lot on the design world. It is very rare the interior designer in America who doesn’t work with carpenters, blacksmiths and all the other ancient arts.
In 2009, Tadd Myers was on a commercial job in which he photographed craftsmen who worked on mouldings for historic buildings. Their tremendous skill and devotion inspired him to launch a lengthy, cross-country journey photographing men and women who make their living producing handmade goods.
The resulting book, Portraits of the American Craftsman, released in 2013, features photographs of 30 workshops across the U.S., from grand piano builders in New York City to baseball glove makers in Texas. The crafts industry occupies a big piece of the American economy, and that it’s what keeps it safe from the hazards of technology.
