Nevertheless, the fashionable red carpet also brought some of the best moments and today, CovetED will take some of the best fashion trends and provide advice on how you can transform them and introduced them to your own interior design, so take a look.
Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet coordinated their looks in a matching muted pink suit and gown which were designed by the late Karl Lagerfeld. Momoa wore a Fendi Made-to-Measure tux whereas Bonet was dressed in a Fendi Couture embellished cage dress from Lagerfeld’s last couture collection for the brand. They also wore jewellery from Fernando Jorge and Jacquie Aiche.
When it comes to colour trends, pink is always a favourite, however, most people prefer a softer shade of pink instead of a more vibrant one. When applied to interiors, muted pink can add warmth and a more whimsical touch to one’s spaces.
The Crazy Rich Asians actress, Constance Wu came to the oscar with a stunning off-the-should golden yellow gown with sheer cap sleeves and pleated. All of the jewellery she wore was from Atelier Swarovski.
This year, one of the major design trends in the interior design industry will be the use of the empowering mellow yellow tone. This earthy shade has the natural prowess of easily complementing other warm colours, such as brown, green, red and neutral tones.
Glenn Close certainly shine through the Academy with an outstanding custom hand-embroidered Carolina Herrara gold gown that also highlighted a long cape. The proficient actress was also holding a Tyler Ellis clutch.
While copper and rosegold were flashy and fun in the age of millennial pink, nowadays it isn’t as sought-after as one may believe. Gold finishes never got out of style and this year are used on the most on-trend furnishings and accessories giving them an unrivalled sense of opulence.
Stephen James, the star of If Beale Street Could Talk came to the red carpet wearing a stunning custom red velvet three-piece tuxedo by Etro. The look was further complemented by a Swarovski earring worn as a brooch, a David Yurman bracelet and remarkable white boots.
In regards to upholsteries, this velvet red trend is bound to surprise everyone in this upcoming year. Featuring a sumptuous quality, velvet will be one of the trendiest fabrics of the season There’s something about a velvet sofa, chair or accent pillow that instantly makes a room look more expensive. It’s the luxe-meets-comfort trend we’ve been waiting for and we are oh-so-ready.
Rachel Weisz was one of the main stars of this year’s Academy Awards, especially when she walked in a bright red gown with a cap-sleeve top and pleated tulle skirt that was further embellished and accessorized with a red clutch and a handband with Cartier jewels.
One of the best things you can get from this unique gown is that it is full of natural materials, and when we talk about interior design, these are the type of materials that are fundamental as they add both style and luxury to a space.
Regina King who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Role, for her incredible performance in If Beale Street Could Talk, was dressed in a custom draped Oscar de la Renta ivory gown with thigh-high slit and Christian Louboutin pumps and Chopard jewels.
While many believe that white is a stark and cold colour to use in interior design, it is, as a matter of fact, the perfect blank canvas one needs to create a timeless space. This universal colour contrasts perfectly with most materials, textures as well as other colours.
Lady Gaga serenaded the house down with an emotional performance of “Shallow”, which she won the oscar for, but that was not the only highlight from the singer/actress, as she wore a stunning strapless Alexander McQueen ball gown with sculptural accents, black elbow-length gloves and a $30 million yellow necklace from Tiffany & Co.
Introducing sculptural and artistic elements to your home interiors is an extraordinary way to add a classic and aesthetic character. These sort of details also tend to add a bit of drama to one’s home, especially if in darker tones, such as black.
For the 2019 edition of the Oscar, the extremely talented Academy award-winning actress, Brie Larson went on the bolder side with a high-shine metallic Celine gown. The look was finished with a high collar and a sexy slide slit as well as Jimmy Choo sandals.

Metallic fabric, molten finishes, and shiny treatments, shimmery interiors are all bound to be a raging trend this season.
Tessa Thompson wore a black tiered column Chanel gown with gold accents throughout as well as Jimmy Choo Sandals.
Two major trends can be transformed into the interior design sector just by looking at this gorgeous dress: fringing and the combination of black with gold accents. On the one hand, the fringe design trend can be a bit over the top and especially old-fashioned, however, nowadays, others actually see it as a fabulous way to add beautiful accents to a modern interior design while also adding a flair of Art Deco. The fringe trend is light and fun, young and glamorous, and it certainly offers a splendorous touch to one’s interiors. On the other hand, gold and black have always been regarded as the ultimate colour combination, especially in home decor. Gold and black is a high-contrast blend that combines refinement with timeless beauty while elevating the opulence of the setting. It is a duo that can be used in a variety of styles ranging from the contemporary to the vintage and Victorian.
