Opt for An Unconventionally Tasty Experience at the Premium Yakiniku ⇒ Located in Tokyo’s Roppongi District, the stunning “Premium Yakiniku” restaurant is an authentic two-floor design restaurant that provides an unconventional yet tasteful experience to its guests. The original aim of this project was to change one’s idea of what a restaurant experience should be like.
This outstanding restaurant was conceived by Tokyo-based architect Ryoji Iedokoro. The architect said that they were inspired by the primal hunter humans who gathered inside a cave or outside in a forest to sit around a fire to cook and share their catch. As a result, Iedokoro tried to create an ambience that would take the shape of caves, forests or even creeks in order to exude a sense of togetherness and community while sharing a meal, thus putting aside the urban side of the so-called restaurant experience.

As said before, the restaurant has two floors, the first one features a cave-like structure, highlighted by a lengthened table made from a special glass material that gives it the texture and look of a stone, whereas the second one is more of tribute to the earth and greenery, offering semi-private floor seating with steel pipes mimicking trees which in turn act as unobtrusive partitions. Due to the second floor’s multi-layered levels, guests have the opportunity to completely experience something out of the ordinary.
Traditionally, in Japan, the emphasis is placed on the presentation of a meal with special care taken when selecting the bowls, plates and utensils to match not only the content of the meal but also things such as the seasons. The design of this Yakiniku restaurant is an extension of this concept with the atmosphere itself being used to contribute to the dining experience and providing guests with everlasting memories that can be shared with family and friends.
