Created in 1897, Kempinski Hotels is Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group. With 120 years of tradition, Kempinski offers its guests impeccable quality and exclusive service at the highest level. Right on Germany’s most beautiful and expensive boulevard, the Maximilianstraße, lies the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munich. Since 1858, guests can enjoy the unique flair and sophisticated elegance of this grand hotel, which was built by royal request, commissioned by King Maximilian II.
It is only a few steps away from various theatres, the State Opera House as well as the most exquisite fashion, jewellery and luxury shops and boutiques in town. The best doctors, galleries and museums, as well as Munich’s most important attractions, are also within easy walking distance. A good relationship with the Bavarian royal household still prevails to this today.
During the last few decades, several stars and celebrities have stayed at the hotel, such as Audrey Hepburn, Queen Elizabeth II, Leonard Bernstein, Andy Warhol, Katy Perry, Tina Turner, Sean Connery, Robbie Williams, Elizabeth Taylor, Anthony Quinn and the Rolling Stones. Over the years, the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munich has been the place to be and throughout 2018 there will be celebrations to mark the 160th anniversary.
Guests can take advantage of 297 luxurious rooms including 67 suites of approximately ten different categories. Every room is different but all have one thing in common: stylish comfort and extraordinary elegance with modern royal Bavarian flair, decorated with artworks from the private collection of the Wittelsbacher family.

A part of the listed building is being thoroughly renovated and upgraded to the ultimate level of technology. This summer, these rooms, as well as a few connectable suites, will be opened to the public again. This way, the complete 6th floor will be transformed into a ‘Royal Floor’ for exclusive use. Additionally, the banqueting and conferencing area has been restored, fulfilling every event organiser’s dreams.
The heart of the Hotel is undoubtedly its lobby. Through the famed glass copula showcasing the four seasons, the lobby is covered in a golden glow, making it one of Europe’s most coveted salons. This year, the lobby will be even livelier. Every day, a ‘lightening ritual’ will mark the beginning of the evening with young musicians giving exclusive concerts. Ian Baker, the hotel’s Chef Patissier and ‘Patissier of the Year 2015’ awarded by Germany’s popular Schlemmer Atlas, presents a brand new and sweet concept: the Brit collected the best ideas of European patisserie and now mixes them with Bavarian tradition.
Look forward to sampling his cakes, tarts, eclairs, pralines and many other sweet delights which are sold and served right under the copula and complement the traditional Afternoon Tea perfectly. Allow yourself to come and enjoy relaxed luxury in the very heart of Munich.
