Elegant Hand Painted Stools by Project CULTURE at Maison et Objet 2019 – CovetED has been highlighting hand techniques that we believe will make the difference in elevating design to a new level. And the Project CULTURE has the main goal of elevating craftsmanship, honouring the knowledge of artisans and making sure it endures through time and to the new generation. So today we will show you hand painted stools that impressed everyone during Maison et Objet 2019 .
Maison et Objet 2019 was the perfect opportunity to admire the pioneering art pieces created in Project CULTURE’s Creative Hub. The contemporary design stools carefully delineated to support several different crafting techniques turned out to be true detailed masterpieces.

It is impossible to forget the challenges every master artisan, plastic artist or designer that collaborated to make these artworks possible faced. Adapting ancient techniques generally used to create smaller decorative objects into furniture is not easy. Nevertheless, that’s why Culture is here for: to motivate experimentation and innovation.

Some of the most beautiful, exclusive and limited-edition art pieces to come out from Culture’s workshops were the hand-painted stools in oil and acrylic paint. The oil version was designed by Joaquim and handcrafted by Oficina Santa Barbara. The magic of it is all in the contrast between the black background and the colorful yet gentle and naturalistic flowers.

The hand-painted acrylic stool is more geometrical in its design and was conceived by the plastic artist Hugo Santos.

Thinking about the hours and hours of hard work, dedication and passion that were needed to bring to life these masterpieces, we can understand why the highest level of excellence and quality can only be achieved by the finest craftsmanship.
