An Interior Design Project To Impress In Kyoto, JapanFriday 13 July 2018
An Interior Design Project To Impress In Kyoto, Japan – Today we want you to be inspired by an extraordinary interior design project that will surely be an inspiration for your next project. This one is a bright and relaxing hair salon located on the second floor of a former car showroom. The design was held by the Japanese practice Sides Core that wanted “an airy space, where breezes can easily flow through” and CovetED Magazine invites you to get inside and be amazed by it.
As soon as you get inside, you get dazzled by the reflections of the mirrors. It is impossible not to notice that mirrors are one of the most important features in the salon. The main impressive mirror – Flux – is suspended from the ceiling and features mirrors on all sides.
The interior design project features an industrial-inspired aesthetic and was designed to show different perspective and settings as you walk into it. The box-shaped shampoo area in the center divides the entire place, while the main cutting area on the south side is calm and relaxing. An open book-shaped mirror, hanging from the ceiling, provides two clients seats on the outside and one on the inside, with a double-paned mirror. On the south side of the salon, there’s only two client chairs, giving the space a private and relaxing feel. The second tier surrounding the information counter is also the perfect place for selling products or other details.
The owner wanted the salon to be like a stage for skilled professionals to showcase their performances, a space with movement and energy that never stands still. And “Flux” is precisely about flow and change, defines the openness of the space and represents its spirit.
