Vincent Darré Transforms The Mayfair Gallery Into His Parisian HomeThursday 18 October 2018
Vincent Darré Transforms The Mayfair Gallery Into His Parisian Home ⇒ Parisian interior designer, Vincent Darré, will transform the Mayfair Gallery into a replica of his own Parisian home, creating an intimate space where people are transported to his luxury “salon”. The exhibition will feature a selection of antiques from the gallery’s own collection, combining timeless French luxury with Dalí-inspired surrealism.
From November 29th to January 5th, 18 Davies Street Gallery is delighted to present a new exhibition which showcases the unique and timeless furniture collection of Parisian interior designer, and former fashion designer Vincent Darré. Vincent will transform 18 Davies Street into a replica of his own Parisian home, creating an intimate space where people are transported to his luxury Parisian “salon” and welcomed like old friends.
Vincent Darré previously designed for Yves Saint Laurent, Prada and Fendi, and passed through the most prestigious French fashion houses before launching his career as an interior furniture designer and creator of decorative objects in 2008. In 2016, Vincent opened his own gallery the ‘Maison Vincent Darré’, that opened in the heart of Paris, in an 18th-century limestone mansion, to showcase his latest creations.
The gallery will exhibit a collection of Vincent’s unusual furniture, including a blown-glass dragonfly lamp and a bronze velour couch. The “salon” of the house will be furnished with carefully selected antiques from the gallery’s own collection which will co-exist alongside Vincent’s contemporary pieces, which embodies timeless French luxury combined with Dalí-inspired surrealism.
“The moment I accepted the gallery’s invitation, I imagined the trip as a permanent relocation. In a flash, the concept was born: a duplex in London with my office and livings rooms to greet my friends. I would live in London and settle at 18 Davies Street, bringing my own furniture and discovering the treasures hidden in the gallery’s archives. I would use the pleasure of decorating to transform the gallery into an intimate space. I will play my role as Dandy and offer my tribute to the decorative arts. November 29th will be my time to welcome you all!”, says Vincent.
