The legendary fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld takes the first step into the residential interior design in the United States. Besides his roles at Chanel, Fendi, and of course, his own label, the fashion icon has announced his first residential real estate design project. The honored spaces will be two residential lobby spaces at The Estates at Acqualina, new, luxury residential development in Miami’s Sunny Isles Beach.
“I take great pride in knowing that the spaces I create will be such important spaces in the building,” said Lagerfeld. “Not only are they significant because they offer the first impression of the building, they are also the spaces where people come to socialize daily; they are like a common living room.”

This glorious estate has been designed by the Trump Group, The Estates at Acqualina set a high bar, aiming to be the world’s finest residences and a celebration of Art, Architecture, and Life. The complex will complement the nearby Mansions at Acqualina, which debuted last fall. It is stated for completion in 2020, the Estates at Acqualina will encompass two 50-story boutique towers with over 45,000 square feet of amenities, including a spa and fitness center, a restaurant overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and an ice skating rink.
The 5.6 acres of lush grounds will make residents never want to leave. A private beach and beachfront restaurant are coupled with multiple infinity pools, gardens, a basketball court, soccer field and dog park. And just in case you do feel like leaving, feel free to borrow the in-house Rolls-Royce. In this amazing estate, Lagerfeld will conceive and design the lobbies’ custom features, finishes, and furnishings.
Details of the project are still under wraps, but Trump is enthusiastic about Lagerfeld’s plan for the lobbies. “You’ll find precious and rare materials, exquisite craftsmanship, sophisticated style, and whimsical details that bring a frisson of excitement and delight.”
