1. Plan Your Kitchen’s Lighting
Kitchen lighting has more to it than you might think, this is if you want to get it right. Depending on your needs, and on your kitchen’s dimensions, there are several things that you should consider:
This is important; having a good light centrepiece can completely revamp your kitchen and increase its glamour in double! No matter if you choose a classic chandelier or something a bit more eclectic; a big, bold piece in the centre of the kitchen will completely transform the ambience and it a much more luxurious feel.
Three’s a Charm!
If you would like to be a little different, you can opt for not one, but three identical hanging pendant fixtures over the centre of the kitchen. There are pendants for all tastes and moods so you can go for a more modern style, or something more traditional. This is quite a unique trait to have in a kitchen which will automatically make it more luxury.
How does this work? For example, if you have a cabinet to store decorative items, a great idea is adding some light to that area. This will make that specific section of the kitchen stand out, while also bringing more dynamic and depth to space. Rope lights and puck lights are popular for this type of cabinet lighting.
While in the kitchen there are so many different tasks that we must attend to, that having a way to make those easier is always welcome. If we can also make it pretty while we are at it, even better! Properly placed task kitchen lighting will help you whenever you need to do some reading in the kitchen (recipes!), or when you are cooking in general. If you are wondering what’s the best place your task lighting that would be under the cabinets. This way the light will come directly from between the work surface and a person’s head. A popular option for this type of task lighting is strip lights.
It’s All About the Ambiance
Ambience lighting is not only great for when you a having dinner parties (or a romantic dinner), it’s actually helpful too, as it can fill in any gaps in lighting. Not only that, but this is also an easier way to instantly upgrade your kitchen that will not only be useful, but it will also provide the kitchen with a cosy, warm glow. It’s ambience lighting after all!
2. Coordinate Your Appliances & Accessories
As we know luxury is in the details so many of the things you can do to completely revamp your kitchen can seem small, but they are actually quite transforming – changing your appliances is one of them!
This alone will make a huge difference in the entire look of the kitchen as it will bring more harmony to the whole aesthetic of your kitchen. It doesn’t matter if you go for chrome or all-white appliances, the important thing is to settle on a theme for everything and include things such as; your espresso machine, kettle and toaster. If for some reason you still you are not able to match all the accessories you have at home, you can always hide those that don’t fit in as well and used them only when needed.
When you have your kitchen’s furniture settled on, you can also personalise it, by changing the handlers. This may be a simple gesture, but it does make all the difference. It’s like accessorising your own kitchen, and it does make it pop!
3. Add Some Greenery or Flowers
Lastly, it’s all about nature. Nothing grounds us more than greenery and flowers and that’s why adding these little touches of green life to our home makes everything so much more homely. Just imagine a bunch of freshly bought hydrangeas somewhere on one of your shiny white surfaces? Nothing feels more luxurious than beautiful flowers in a beautiful room. Alternatively, and if you own a large kitchen you could even add actual plants to it, or simply arranged foliage in artfully way in order to give it a sleek look.
