“Glorious” Becomes the Most Expensive Bonbon In the Entire World ⇒ The most expensive bonbon in the world, called ‘Glorious’, was showcased this past weekend at the beloved International Chocolate Festival, in Óbidos, Portugal. Visitors had the opportunity to take a sneak peek at the exclusive gold-plated chocolate developed by chocolatier Daniel Gomes, which costs €7,728.
The expensive chocolate was created by Portuguese chocolatier, Daniel Gomes and is made up of equatorial black Valrhona chocolate, saffron filaments, Perigord white truffle, white truffle oil, Madagascar vanilla, gold flakes, last but not least, a surprise ingredient. In order to achieve this feat, the chocolatier searched for the most expensive ingredients for its confection and worked extensively for this final result which is aimed at the luxury market.

The Glorious bonbon will have a limited edition of just 1,000 bonbons, sold in packaging that is also “a work of art and almost like a jewellery box,” that can be kept after the bonbon has been eaten. It consists of a black lacquered wooden base with gold serial number engraving and a crystal cloche, coated with thousands of Swarovski crystals and pearls, finished off with a gold ribbon handle.
The diamond-shaped chocolate will cause all sorts of reactions, dividing those who believe it is acceptable to create such an expensive and exclusive rarity and others who think it’s simply too extravagant for a chocolate to be this expensive. Nevertheless, Glorious promises to keep tongues wagging not only in Portugal but also Internationally.
