The kaleidoscope, invented by a British scientist, became familiar to children as a toy in Japan since it was imported during the Edo era. It was developed by incorporating Japanese paper, up to the point that it became a traditional craft. This kinetic spatial installation will comprise a three-dimensional origami kaleidoscope with reflective surfaces; a projector will shine light and colour onto this automated moving structure, surrounding the whole gallery with whimsical geometric patterns.
