Some of the greatest European painters were the masters that inspired Domenico Dolce to photograph beautiful women, something that began two years ago during his Alta Moda event. Iconic images that are now in an extraordinary book that also presents 140 inspiring illustrations.

Domenico Dolce was the photographer, designer and tailor of this project. He chose and prepared the clothes, accessories and jewellery for each of the ladies, transforming them into contemporary queens.

These queens were dressed in Dolce&Gabbana Alta Moda and Alta Gioielleria creations, in a sumptuous and opulent set of Baroque interiors. Domenico’s compositions are not only a tribute to feminine beauty and charisma but a revitalisation of the image of sophisticated and timeless luxury.

The 40 paintings highlight an array of artist, from Bronzino to Vigée Le Brun and from Tiziano to Mengs, showing the most fascinating princesses, empresses and noblewomen of the past five centuries, creating a picture gallery between the past and present.
