Committed, visionary designer/architect/urban planner/photographer Charlotte Perriand surprisingly long remained in the shadow of Le Corbusier. This major retrospective thus highlights 70 years of creative design over 4000 m2 and shows us that, even in the 1920s, she was already truly ahead of her time. Her brilliant design creations include the open-plan kitchen! This exhibit also offers 200 artworks signed by the greatest artists of the 20th century, with whom she collaborated: Fernand Léger, Calder, Picasso, Miro, Le Corbusier, Braque, and even Soulages.

At the heart of Station F, you sometimes have to be a bit patient to get into the largest restaurant in Europe (4500 m2, five kitchens, seating 1000 customers)! But this venue is definitely worth the trip and the pizzas aren’t too shabby either. You can also wander around sipping on a cocktail, sharing antipasti, strolling around amidst the train cars, reading on the mezzanine, or attending a concert.

From field to plate, the urban gardeners at Merci Raymond have taken over L’Antenne, a creative space in the 11th arrondissement, creating a super-sized vegetable garden, and, at the same time, a stylish locavore eatery that tickles the taste buds without increasing your carbon footprint. With a limited set menu at lunchtime and small bites to share at night, the food here is simple as pie: delicious, ultra-fresh, and zero-waste. The Specials of the Day board lists the number of kilometres produce had to travel to get to your plate.

The most famous of all department stores offers a reinvented version of itself on this prestigious avenue! Its four levels set within a 1930s building were redesigned by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels. Out went the classic display cases, and in came six glass boxes suspended over the dome. This new flagship with a futuristic bent has opted for mixed fashion spaces, and focuses on personal stylists to guide clients off the beaten path. It’s a whole new shopping experience.
When? Tuesday-Saturday 10:30-23:00, Sundays and Mondays 10:30-22:00
Where? 60 avenue des Champs-Elysées, 8th arrondissement, Paris
