The company founder, Ettore Bugatti, who was born and grew up in Milan, succeeded by combining his artistic approach with his technical innovations. This helped him paving the way for the design language that characterises Bugatti as a world famous luxury brand.
The brand was as per usual present at Salone del Mobile 2019 and where its newest collections were showcased.
The “limited edition” Cobra Chair was present at the fair and is produced in 110 exclusive pieces. Its concept reinterprets the original version designed and created in 1902 by Carlo Bugatti in a contemporary key.
Etienne Salomé, Deputy Design Director has slimmed down the design to give it a new stylish dynamism, whilst continuing to respect the original expressive language.
Last but not least, this unique design was also a winner of the Coveted awards in ‘The Most Coveted Dining Chair’ category.

Cassina was founded in 1927 and was responsible for launching industrial design in Italy during the 1950s.
The company was pioneering in its field thanks to its research work and innovative approach that led them to work with renowned architects and designers who brought them new and fresh ideas.
Cassina’s identity lies in the innovative fusion of technological skill and traditional craftsmanship.
Their collections feature iconic furniture designed by names such as – Le Corbusier, Mackintosh, Wright, Rietveld, Perriand, Albini and Zanuso, Bellini, Lissoni, Magistretti, Pesce, Ponti and Starck. In 2015 Patricia Urquiola joined the team as Cassina’s Art Direction.
A lot has changed for Cassina ever since its debut in 1927, still, its identity has remained the same: designs that lie in the innovative fusion between technical skills and traditional craftsmanship.
Flou‘s new collection presented at Salone del Mobile 2019
In the history of the modern bed, the year 1978 was a milestone. It was the year that Flou was founded, a company with the precise objective of innovating the bedroom and create a new ‘sleep culture’.
Flou was ahead of its time and launched Nathalie, a bed designed by Maestro Vico Magistretti. In addition to the innovative design and the possibility of purchasing it ‘ready for sleep’, Nathalie was also extremely practical: a flick of the wrist and it was made.
Today Flou continues to make its mark by introducing beautiful and innovative designs into the interior design world. Their new collection presented at Salone del Mobile this year is a “story” between light and design. – Delicate and oneiric, it is the light that defines the spaces and marks the transition from intimate to cosy, or nocturnal to joyful daytime atmospheres. The aim is to create a delightful mood that reflects personalities and allows people to identify with it.

Molteni&Co was present at Salone del Mobile this year with a concept that is inspired by the houses of the great architects of the mid 20th century. The straight pure wall and ceiling volumes divide and emphasize the different spaces. These shifting volumes never touch each other, creating horizontal and vertical visual filters. The result is a bright and open architecture, with large green islands inspired by Californian gardens.
Among the several designs presented at the fair was this Gregor modular system created by Vincent van Duysen for Molteni&C.
It includes various straight, corner or peninsular units that can be mixed and matched together to give multiple combinations for a living space which is destined for conversation, reading or entertainment.
The steel base features a zinc finish, supported by small feet that recall Vincent Van Duysen’s most recent furniture designs – the Quinten sideboards or the Jan small tables which are covered in leather.
Established in 1970 as the evolution of a small artisan’s shop dating back to 1942, Poliform invested in new production technologies and the products have successfully evolved into functional and modular systems.
The minds behind this legacy are Alberto Spinelli, Aldo Spinelli and Giovanni Anzani, who still head the company today. They have until this day successfully blended specific technical expertise and know-how, with an entrepreneurial approach, which is in absolute harmony with the social and economic changes of the era.
The brand was also present at Salone del Mobile 2019 and was one of the CovetED Awards winners in the ‘Most Coveted Bedroom’ category.
