To start things off, did you know that Tiffany was actually the first American company to introduce the 925/1000 sterling silver standard which was later adopted by the United States. This precious metal comprises Tiffany’s hollowware, like this 1853 pitcher, which at this day and age, gleams in chic jewellery designs.

In Late 1870’s, Charles Lewis Tiffany purchased a 287-carat fancy yellow diamond. This mesmerising jewellery was entitled the Tiffany Diamond and it is cut to 128.54 carats. Later on, in the 1880’s, Tiffany introduced the stunning and riveting Tiffany® Setting diamond engagement ring in 1886. This mesmerising piece has come to play an important role in some of the world’s best love stories not only due to its unique design but also for what it stands for.

Since the beginning, Tiffany and Co. has travelled all over the world to find the rarest gemstones that to this day are still extremely popular among the discerning audience.

Right at the start of the 20th-century, the son of Charles Lewis Tiffany, Louis Comfort Tiffany became the very first official design director of the luxury brand. A few years later, Tiffany reaches yet another thrilling achievement as the United States adopted the brand’s standard of purity as the official one when it comes to platinum.

In the 40’s, the brand opened the renowned Tiffany flagship store at the corner of 57th Street and Fifth Avenue. The beautiful building in granite and limestone is characterised by Art Deco influences and stainless steel doors.

In 1956, the iconic designer, Jean Schlumberger joined Tiffany & Co. He designed some of the most timeless, coveting and collectable jewellery and accessories that have been worn by some of the most influential and glamorous women in the world, such as Jacqueline Kennedy and Diana Vreeland. One of the most adored designs created by Schlumberger was the whimsical Bird on a Rock.

The 60’s was an utterly interesting time for the company, especially in regards to collaborations with renowned figures. For example, Audrey Hepburn embraced Tiffany’s New York style in the acclaimed motion picture, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The brand also produced the NFL Vince Lombardi Super Bowl Trophy. It was also commisioned to conceived the White House china service for President Lyndon B. Johnson and former First Lady, Lady Bird Johnson. Lastly, Andy Warhol created joyful and elegant holiday cards for the brand, which are still quite celebrated today.

Elsa Peretti joined forces with Tiffany in 1974. Her revolutionary jewellery designs were best described for their sensual and organic forms that completely enticed everyone with her creations, “A masterful artisan, Peretti explores nature with the acumen of a scientist and the vision of a sculptor. She allows us to see such forms as the bean, the apple and the snake in intriguing and beautiful new ways.”

Six years later, the legendary Paloma Picasso starts to design fine jewellery for Tiffany best defined by an original and bold approach as well as the use of brilliant coloured gemstones. The designer was invited by the brand’s design director, John Loring – who remained in this post until 2009 – to create an amazing table setting for a particular exhibition. One year went by and Picasso’s first exclusive jewellery collection was launched by Tiffany.

In 1999, Tiffany introduces Lucida®, a stunning cut decades in development. A year later, the brand established the Tiffany & Co. Foundation, that was created in order to support nonprofit organizations dedicated to education, the preservation of design in the arts as well as protecting the environment. In 2004, Tiffany developed a vital partnership with renowned architect, Frank Gehry, who has designed grandiose jewellery pieces for the brand.

In 2007, the iconic and sophisticated The Tiffany Novo® diamond is introduced. It was based on the cushion-cut Tiffany Diamond. A couple of years later, the brand created the Tiffany Keys Collection, which allowed one to mix key pendants and chains creating a personalized and detailed look.

In 2012, Tiffany & Co. celebrated 175 years of exquisite glamour and legendary style. In honour of such achievement, Tiffany’s jewellery designers came with innovative ideas and concepts to reset one of the fanciest and most believed creations, the Tiffany Diamond. In this new setting, the astonishing 128.54-carat yellow diamond is suspended from over 100 carats of white diamonds.

In 2014, the incredible Tiffany T collection was launched. Characterised by graphic angles and clean lines, the collection features a series of dynamic and strong pieces.

Quite recently, Tiffany & Co has released an impressive and “fiercely feminine” HardWear collection that embodies the empowering edge and energy of New York City, and working with celebrities like Zoe Kravitz and Lady Gaga. A home accessories collection was also introduced which representing the company’s unique take on modern life and blending in functionality with nothing but the finest materials.

In addition, the brand has also released plenty of designs that follow the same standard of luxury that the brand has been known for, including the Tiffany & Co. Schlumberger® Sixteen Stone ring with diamonds and rubies as well as the Tiffany Metro 2-Hand 28 mm women’s watch in stainless steel with diamonds. But this is just to name a few, seeing that the brand always seeks to innovate and surprise the world with hair-raising and unforeseen moves.
