When asked: “Why did you choose architecture for your life?” She said, “I have a taste for aesthetics, for beautiful things in life, and am passionate about creatively developing and redesigning spaces.”
“My work is very diverse, and I love it. Each day is different and there are daily exciting tasks, from the creative design process to the final result. To develop furniture, colour and light concepts depending on the subject and the desired ambiences makes me very happy. In spite of my education as an architect, my heart beats for interior design.”
“I feel excited about many styles. What is important is that the interior space fits into the surrounding space, either by fitting in or playing with contrasts. I personally love Art Deco interior, but also very old furniture. My favourite colours are black, white and gold.”
She is always looking for new interior ideas and inspiration in exhibitions such as IMM Cologne or Light & Building in Frankfurt and admires professionals, such as Le Corbusier, James Eames, Zaha Hadid, Daniel Libeskind, Axel Vervoordt, among others.
“My favourite project was the construction of a Dental Clinic in 2015. The main building has been completely renovated over three floors (reception area, treatment level and seminar room). Previously, the clinic concept was characterised by blue tones and wood. The new concept sets the colours in white and green in the foreground, luminescent pictures as well as green moss creating a bond with nature, where patients can feel comfortable.”
When it comes to luxury brands, here is what the interior designer has to say: “I love all brands of Covet House, all furniture is very modern, but also have a touch of “Art Deco”. Excellent! For old furniture, I enjoy a visit to my antique dealer. Another predilection is carpets, especially carpets by Jan Kath!”
Lastly and regarding new projects, Schneider disclosed, “I am currently working on an exciting project for a nice couple living in a wonderful Bauhaus-style house. The modernization is completed and now it is about the interior design details. New carpets, furniture and accessories are proposedly chosen by me in order to assure a uniform interior design concept.”
