The project | Apartment in Moscow, 80 m²
When a small apartment falls into the hands of a responsible designer, the first thing he should do – be concerned about the future comfort of client and be focused on functionality. But if the owners of the apartments are artistic and easy-going people, always prepared for any experiments, the designer will not miss a chance add some ideas.
Initially, the apartment was a typical example of “stalinka” (architecture style of the Soviet Union under the leadership of Joseph Stalin, between 1933 and 1955, is associated with the socialist realism school of art and architecture): a narrow hallway, a small kitchen, bathroom and WC separated.
During the process of redevelopment designer used every square meter and as a result a bedroom acquired with a wardrobe, in the living room she found a place for a large dining table, and the corridor lost his area in order to expand spacious bathroom. The owners of apartment, who often work at home, also received a personal cabinet.
The colour palette of apartments is built on deep blues and provocative shades of yellow that play with each other in every way. The Brightly coloured living room literally exploding in the small kitchen area, but then it switches to a half-whisper in the next room and newly discloses in the bedroom in a gentle flower theme.
Geometric prints on carpets and textiles in the living room and bedroom are responsible for a dynamic in the interior. The cabinet is decorated with discreet vintage stripes and cells. The apartment’s atmosphere is a mix of typical forms particular characteristic of American furniture and vintage style.
For lighting, the apartment was equipped with Ella suspension lamp, designed and produced by the Portuguese company DelightFULL. Chosen by the designer, Ella is a masterpiece that stands out for its sober lines and its simplicity. A style icon of the fifties and sixties perfectly suitable for a living room in the small apartment. A unique ceiling fixture handmade in brass with 15 arms and aluminium lampshades.
