So, CovetED Magazine selected a few of her latest and best design projects to honour her incredible work and to give you the best inspiration.
St James House
St James House Residential Project is a wonderful residential interior architectural design development completed by Katharine Pooley, introducing “The Clarence at St James House, London”. Appointed to create an interior befitting the impeccable architecture of The Clarence at St James House while staying true to its faultless heritage, Katharine Pooley and her team of designers and interior architects worked over a five year period to effect a transformation of the Grand II listing building into an elegant residence in London. Throughout the property there are listed details and architectural features in need of protection, restoration and incorporation into the overall interior design scheme. Katharine worked extensively with the architects & contractors to ensure the narrative was consistent.
It’s proximity to royalty makes St. James’s House truly unique. One of the most important addresses in London, it overlooks St. James’s Palace, is a stone’s throw to Buckingham Palace, and with direct views of the main entrance to Pall Masll. The use of exquisite marble, bespoke furnishings, hand painted wallpapers and fine joinery have been used to complement the restored existing listed features such as fireplaces, mouldings, staircases and wall panelling resulting in an immaculate and ground breaking finished interior.
Mountain Ash House
In Mountain Ash House Katharine has created the ultimate peaceful and welcoming coastal weekend retreat. Nestled on the English coastline, a stones throw from one of Devon’s prettiest beaches, this period property was developed and extended to create a luxurious family holiday home bathed in natural light and full of personal artworks and curiosities sourced from the Katharine Pooley boutique and on her many trips abroad.
Set within a conservation area – the surrounding village features thatched cottages and spellbinding coastal backdrop. Katharine’s in-house interior architecture team ensured all architectural alterations were approved and undertaken quickly. An extra floor was added and the interior partitions amended to allow a more contemporary open plan feel. An attractive exterior courtyard extends the living space and speaks directly to the beautiful coastal views beyond.
This large large lateral apartment with panoramic views overlooking London’s leafy Hyde Park was completely redesigned by Katharine for a returning client. The brief was to create and impressive and luxurious interior that played on the Art Deco facade of the property and incorporated the clients love of exquisite detail and rare finishes.
Katharine Pooley is worldwide renowned for the sophisticated and high-end interiors and has a huge and bespoke collection of projects. So, if you want to know more about her portfolio, please click here.
