Since they opened their firm in 1978, they have applied this philosophy to their portfolio of projects, always mindful of the basics. Paraphrasing Louis Kahn, “Materials tell you what they want to be,” said Mindel. “Kahn had an ability to reduce space to its primal elements.”

Shelton Mindel & Associates distinguish themselves by adding something unexpected. “It’s important to make the familiar seem unfamiliar,” said Mindel. Whether they’re designing a loft, residence, ocean liner, product or a Gulf Stream jet, their approach is clear. “We distil ideas to their most pure and meaningful state,” he explained. “Simplicity is the most complicated thing to pursue, but when all elements synthesize, they transcend mere enclosure and become an art form.”

That’s why the interior design is simple and minimalist yet sophisticated and elegant. The white tones and sober lines give a sense of peace and serenity, making it one of the perfect designs for a perfect home.
