India Mahdavi is definitely a major reference when it comes to unique interior design. “Exotic”, “feminine”, and “dramatic” are three of the major keywords associated with her work and style. Having grown up in a multicultural environment and family it’s no wonder she has a multitalented take on her projects, not to mention the chance of working with several other amazing designers. CovetED will now be showing you one of the best projects of hers made alongside fellow design colleague Joseph Dirand.

L’Apogée Courchevel has first opened in December 2013, and since then it became a well-known destination for highly experienced skiers as well as to those who just love the relaxing air of the mountains. Inside this establishment, you can find incredible ski facilities, first-class, a subterranean spa, and of course, a hotel that comes off as a stylish home for warm relaxation.
For this peculiar project, designers India Mahdavi and Joseph Dirand have created a deeply comfortable home fitting for the guests to return to after a day in the brilliant white snow. The main thing that defines this project as a whole is the fact that it has a heavy focus on Mid-Century styling.

The pair of architects had a vision when creating the concept for this hotel: the creation of a home with an easy and warm atmosphere with the utmost best quality. We can say that due to the presence of Fior di Bosco marble in the bathrooms, as well as the use of elements such as the warm wool plaid carpets, supple leather and reams of plush velvet used to enhance the cosy environment in each room.
The two architects had their own common idea of what they wanted for the project. While India Mahdavi wanted the place to look and feel ” like a family château with a palatial side, a place where you aren’t overwhelmed by the déco”, Joseph Dirand wanted to create “a home transformed over the years into a hotel”. A different yet common goal that united both interior designers in that direction indeed.
