Enchant Yourself with Colección Trama by Comité de Proyectos
Saturday 23 November 2019Comité de Proyectos providing a unique approach and aesthetic in their design challenges. This can be seen not only in their projects but also in their furniture conceptions. We know it’s winter and you probably want nothing more than the warmth of your home, but CovetED is going to introduce you to a set of furniture elements that are very much reminding of the outside: this is the colourful Colección Trama.
In essence, this collection has three main pieces: an armchair, a coffee table and a side table. It was first introduced during Inédito 2016 with the main purpose to evoke the exterior on the inside. More than to be components of a living room decor, these design elements aim to transport the people within this decor into a physical space where the interior and exterior blur.
For their vision in regards to these products, Comité de Proyectos envisioned a place where nature invades private spaces, integrating into the daily lives of people. Elements such as ruins of palaces, ancient settlements, greenhouses, interior courtyards and others had a weight function in the conception of these furniture elements.
Poltrona Calaca is a lovely chair with an inspiration that came from a formal synthesis of the representation of Quetzalcoatl. The circular shape of this lovely element gives it a visual sensation of a light contained in an oval shape. Its base is made of solid Huanacaxtle wood, upholstery body and rattan crown made by artisans from the San Miguel Chapultepec neighbourhood.
Then we have two tables: the Mesa Trama baja and the Mesa Trama Alta. The two of them are based on the idea of adding a glass cover to the loose pieces. On the first one, there are 5 pieces that make up the base which is sculpted from a block of Tikal green marble with a cover made of tempered 9mm glass. The second one, on the other hand, is made of wood covered with gold foil sheets, it is covered with a national marble called Cloud.
