Discover the Take of Clodagh on Six Senses Douro Valley!Monday 30 December 2019
Clodagh is a design company quite famous for its incredible luxury spa design projects. This company, armed with their unique notions of life-enhancing minimalism that provides a unique serenity to the interiors they tackle has managed to create a stunning reputation in these types of interiors. CovetED is about to show you one of their most acclaimed results: the Stunning Six Senses Douro Valley.
This building consists of a superbly renovated 19th-century manor house, famous for its jaw-dropping views of the Douro River. Among some of the main features of this amazing establishment, there’s a spa, restaurants, a wine library, swimming pools and an organic garden. Clodagh handled a lot of elements in regards to keeping loyal to the style and tradition of the region.
The design firm was responsible for the aforementioned wine library that is very alike a village town square. Clodagh also managed to be playful with the traditions associated with the region (mainly the vine and wine production), by introducing a lovely ceiling fixture that’s entirely made out of local bottles. This very same space is used for wine tasting and tapas as well.
The tones that prevail throughout the interiors of Six Senses Douro Valley are gentle, warm, nostalgic, and very allusive to the traditional styling of the region. The establishment is also enhanced the incredible secret gardens one can see from the spa rooms. Elements such as water sculptures, and the stunning view towards the green valleys and the river in between, make up the ingredients for a memorable stay.
This is one of the many examples of the stunning design style of Clodagh. Their team is famous for incorporating such cutting edge modalities, like for example, biophilia. In the case of Six Senses Douro Valley, they took inspiration from the work of local artisans and craftsmen of Portugal. For example, the bathrooms and beds, are handmade using organic lamb’s wool from local sheep. This is one of the most authentic, enriching and memorable experiences you can experience in the interior of the country.
