With this pandemic, interpersonal relationships have been left hanging and we also miss talking and being with our clients and the interior designers who inspire the world. In order to provide relevant content to the community and all interior design lovers, MeetSales decided to take action. They selected some of the best interior designers in the world to meet and do what we love most: Talk about design! CovetED is here to guide you though this journey are you ready?
Design Meetings started on April 27, and since then, every week we share unique interior design ideas shared by some amazing people in the field.
Who was interviewed?
1. Ammar Steven Alshash, interior designer and owner of Dwelling Designs
From the main interest in contemporary style with a similarly modern style interior design magazine called Dwell, the name Dwelling Designs was born. Deserving a celebration worthy of Dwellings’ simple yet powerful philosophy: Great relationships with clients lead to great design.
This has always been the company’s main focus, and it was noticeable throughout the time the company was talking with Ammar about how important this is. His love for interpersonal relationships is so intense that Ammar confessed that if he had to choose another career it would be a psychologist. There is no doubt that he would be great at that, but we’re glad he followed the path of interior design and became the incredible professional he is today.
The owner of Dwellings Design mentions with pride that one of the most rewarding parts of his work is seeing how design can change peoples lives, mentioning the time he was invited to the wedding of a couple who felt that his interior design brought them even closer together and that he was, therefore, a part of their lives. How beautiful is this? Love is in the air! Even in the interior design. Ammar mentions he prefers a minimalist and modern style and told that his house reflects precisely that style. However, he admits that doing the interior design of his own house was the most challenging and difficult project he has ever done. Curious isn’t it? How easy it seems for an interior designer to get inside other people’s heads but when it comes to their own house the situation gets more complicated… Our home is our sanctuary! So it becomes natural that by being from the area and being surrounded by so many amazing new things, that committing to only one way might be difficult indeed. We feel you, Ammar!
Home as a Sanctuary!

2. Laith Abdelhadi, interior designer and owner of Laith Design Studio
The second guest at Design Meetings was Laith Abdelhadi, interior designer and owner of Laith Design Studio. Laith studied filmmaking but always had the dream to be an interior designer. He managed to do it, self-taught and fighting against the possible and impossible, starting from scratch in a small room with no air conditioning in hot Dubai. After 16 years he has countless amazing works and projects in the area.
He dreamed of being part of this world. From a young age, he ventured into unconventional programs that nurtured his love for furniture and design, nurtured his curiosity with everything he could capture, to one day follow his dream of becoming an interior designer. However, due to Laith’s father being a film producer, he wanted his son to follow in his footsteps and continue his legacy, prompting Laith to study filmmaking.
From zero to a dream that came true!

3. Vu Trong Khai, Interior Design Director of Thang Long Luxury Home
The third guest at Design Meetings was Vu Trong Khai (also known as James), Interior Design Director of Thang Long Luxury Home. Mr. James has a huge passion for kitchens. It’s how it all began for him in the area of interior design. He considers it the most important room in the house, also because “We usually don’t invite our friends to the bedroom, right?”. But his work goes far beyond this division and he has amazing works that include all the rooms of the house. For him, there are no limits in mixing colors and objects, as long as it is with knowledge. We agree… in interior design anything is possible!

What interviews can we count with next?
4. Dorina Cocolea, Cofounder of Cocolea Furniture
Our next guest at Design Meetings is going to be Dorina Cocolea, Cofounder of Cocolea Furniture. With a very own style, irreverent and out of the box, Cocolea Furniture is a company that emerged from the couple Cristian and Dorina. They had a passion and a dream to create beautiful, opulent, and bespoke furniture and art. And by talking to Dorina, we realize that in achieving this dream they also encourage their clients to be themselves and not be afraid to show who they are through their homes.
Always show who you are… even through your home!
