Patrick Jouin is another relevant example of an interior designer who is highly regarded as one of the top references in French design. His work is mainly focused on finding an industrial design for the decorative arts within both the French and international scene. CovetED will be showing you a little about his best works.

Having worked with top manufacturers Cassina, Kartell, Alessi, Puiforcat, JC Decaux or Fermob, it’s no wonder that Patrick ended up finding a solid career within the scenario of industrial design. However, it’s to note that he also has a lot of interior design projects, such as the Hotel Plaza Athénée, the restaurant of the Louis XV, Van Cleef and Arpels’ showroom.
It comes as no surprise but Patrick Jouin ID’s team was consecrated by a monographic exhibition at Centre Pompidou in 2009, as well as earning an honour with the Compasso d’Oro in 2011 for PastaPot. The “Solid” collection at MOMA is one of his biggest accomplishments, due to it being the first series of real-sized furniture made by 3D printing.
We would like to remind you of Héra collection in which Patrick Jouin chose to preserve wood, the core material of these unique armchairs, and ended up presenting it with an extremely delicate fluid form. Being available in both ash or American walnut, the collection is an embodiment of the concept of lightness, as well as the importance of preserving natural materials.
We can also see very alike concepts in other of Jouin’s collections such as Emma, Eliott, Scalla, Manda, among others. His design style is very light to the eye, as well as very minimalistic and easily adaptable to any style of home decor. Not to mention the fact that they manage to be a reflection of the ever-growing tendency of promoting sustainability as an eco-friendly concept in design.
