An Egg Shaped Sauna and Sculpture That’s Simply Outstanding – You can’t buy it (yet), but can you imagine this fabulous Egg Shaped Sauna and Sculpture in your fabulous garden? If you are a fan of extravagant saunas, then this piece of art and design it’s clearly the perfect fit for you, but don’t be too excited because unfortunately, for now, it’s not for sale and it’s also unavailable for commercial use.
But if you like it so much, you could use it as a design inspiration for your personal sauna project. In fact, this Egg Shaped Sauna and Sculpture was built by Riksbyggen, a Swedish property developer, for the Swedish city of Kiruna, that’s located in the freezing but prestigious Lapland.
The town mayor asked Riksbyggen to create a unique and comfortable meeting place where residents could discuss the challenges of the city. With this in mind, the brilliant minds at Riksbyggen came up with the idea of combining a meeting room with a public sauna and the final result is this astonishing Egg Shaped Sauna.
This piece met all the requirements of the client and became a design icon in Scandinavia. It was so successful in Sweden that Riksbyggen and the City of Kiruna decided to put it on display at local design events. The success quickly crossed borders and reached the rest of Europe, so nowadays we can find this amazing piece in Paris in display at the Institut Suédois (Swedish Institute).
But if you want to see it at the City of Lights you’ll have to hurry, because in January it will return to Sweden to be exhibited at the Artipelag in Stockholm, and after that, it will go back permanently to Kiruna.
The good news is that Riksbyggen is producing five more Egg Shaped Sauna and Sculpture to be sold to the general public. Two of them were already bought by two private collectors in the United States of America. The remaining three pieces can be bought during 2018, but you’ll have to act quickly because there will be a high demand for this amazing piece.
