Meet The Unique And Iconic Pieces From Carl Hansen & Son Presented At iSaloni 2019⇒ The centenary Danish luxury furniture brand Carl Hansen & Søn has launched during Isaloni 2019 in Milano a Unique and Iconic Collection with pieces from models made by the projects of important Danish design masters such as Hans J. Wegner, Kaare Klint, Arne Jacobsen e Børge Mogensen. Today CovetEd will show you everything about the new collection designed by this brand that focuses on timeless beauty, comfort, craftsmanship, and sustainability.
The story of Carl Hansen & Søn began in 1908 with a clear purpose: to create meaningful design rooted in a deep respect for natural materials and uncompromising craftsmanship. The luxury’s brand collection represents the entire Golden Age of Danish Design and contains iconic designs from the Danish Modern period, including those of Hans J. Wegner, Kaare Klint, Poul Kjærholm, Arne Jacobsen, Børge Mogensen, Mogens Koch, Bodil Kjær, and Ole Wanscher. True to its heritage, Carl Hansen & Søn continues to forge new paths in collaboration with international design masters such as Japanese architect Tadao Ando and Austrian design trio EOOS.
The CH30 chair from Wegner, the armchair Contour Chair from Børge Mogensen and the Coupé Sofá from Fitz Henningsen are some of the pieces the brand presented during Salone del Mobile 2019.

CH30 is an elegant dining room chair designed by Wegner for Carl Hansen & Son in 1954. After being out of production for several years, the chair is now being reintroduced – 65 years after being designed by the first time. Wegner had his own style and worked tirelessly to materialize his vision of the perfect chair. Honouring the values of a true craftsman, Wegner worked mostly with wood and made the perfect example of the perfection of craftsmanship work – the dining chair CH30, conceived in 1954. The chair was now produced at Carl Hansen & Son factory and the continuous study of the project and form has resulted in several other chairs. After being out of production for several decades, the CH30 chair is now to be reintroduced and re-added to the extensive collection of classic the design of the Carl Hansen & Son.
“The design of the CH30 makes a clear reference Wegner chairs CH23 of 1950 and CH33 of 1957, and this is clear in the sophisticated art of the covers end fittings slightly arch. The CH30 is available in oak and walnut with various finishes and a seat cushioned, upholstered in leather or fabric. The dimensions of the chair are : 46 cm (seat height), 78 cm (height), 47 cm (depth), and 52 cm (width).
CONTOUR CHAIR BY Børge Mogensen
Børge Mogensen was also a master of sculptural forms, and the best example of that is its contour chair, organically modelled and created in 1949. Carl Hansen & Son presented during Isaloni the distinctive design by Børge Mogensen which the iconic and immediately recognizable Contour Chair, exhibited for the first time at the In Copenhagen in 1949. The armchair, with its plated backrest moulded into the press, attracts considerable attention, as it was the strong exponent of a design language totally in Mogensen, known until then by a simple, functional approach to the design, based on their strong social conscience.

The Contour Chair model number BM0949 is made of oak, walnut and a combination of these two types of wood with various finishes. Seat and seat joints are always completed with contrasting wood wedges and have a leather or fabric upholstered the seat. The dimensions of the chair are: 39 cm (seat height), 73 cm (height), 63.5 cm (depth ), and 53.5 cm (width).
COUPÉ SOFA BY Fitz Henningsen
Henningsen’s incredible ability to grasp the expression traditional periods of previous stylistic periods and to reinterpret them in a new era is reference read in several of his designs – and not least in the elegantly proportioned Coupé Sofa. Presented for the first time in the Furniture Exhibition of the Grémio de Copenhagen in 1936, the Coupé Sofa is now part of the collection of pieces of furniture classic of Carl Hansen & Son.
The ingenious design of the sofa is the continuation of the highly detailed Heritage Chair of 1930 and the simple Signa true Chair of 1954, which would be the last design work of Henningsen. Like the two seats, the Coupé Sofa is characterized by its smooth organic, a personal and refined expression, and exceptional knowledge of materials.

The Coupé Sofa model number FH436 is crafted in oak and walnut with various and is upholstered in leather or fabric, with the inside armrests and skin. The dimensions of the sofa are: 42 cm (seat height), 100 cm (height), 64 cm (depth), and 149 cm (width).
