Launched in Milan in 1961 as a vehicle for promoting Italian exports of furnishing and accessories, the Salone del Mobile is the global benchmark event for the furnishing and design sector. The Salone is held in Milan in April every year, during Milan Design Week, along with the biennial Euroluce exhibition in odd years and EuroCucina and the International Bathroom Exhibition in even years, and in tandem with the annual International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition and Workplace3.0.
Italian Luxury Brands
The Roberto Cavalli Group, controlled by Italian investment fund Clessidra SGR, is one of the most important Italian companies operating in the luxury fashion, accessories and lifestyle sectors. Founded in the Seventies, when fashion designer and entrepreneur Roberto Cavalli launched the namesake brand, the Group currently operates a wide portfolio of internationally established labels positioned in the different segments of the high-end offering.
Being one of the biggest names in the Italian luxury brand‘s world, Roberto Cavalli Interiors has a regular presence at Salone del Mobile. In 2018, the brand joined the Tahiti chaise longue to its permanent collection after the chair’s success at the 2017 edition of the event.

Porada’s collection is wide and varied, made up of a multitude of occasional furniture developed in collaboration with several designers. In 2018 the brand celebrated its 70th anniversary at Salone del Mobile!

Antonio Lupi is a Tuscan company that, for over sixty years, has distinguished itself on the Italian and international markets for their bathroom furnishings projects. On the 2018 edition, the brand presented more than 20 novelties.
The MissoniHome collection, designed by Rosita Missoni, is produced and distributed by T&J Vestor, a leading Italian company in home textiles and furnishings, since the early 80s. The appeal of the Missoni message is transformed through the know-how of T&J Vestor, offering proposals for decorating and furnishing houses and gardens in an innovative way. MissoniHome can be found in exclusive designer boutiques and department stores in all the big capital cities and in Missoni boutiques. The brand is present at the most authoritative international trade fairs, like Salone del Mobile, appealing to architects and designers for their creative installations. Bugatti Home Collection describes the elegant and extraordinary lifestyle originated from the artistically inspired environment of the Bugatti family since the beginning of the 20th century. Under the guidance of Bugatti Design and in collaboration with Etienne Salome, head of Bugatti Interior Design, Italian architect Carlo Colombo studied and carefully reinterpreted the brand’s DNA to create some unique pieces of furniture, which are manufactured and distributed by Luxury Living Group.

Cassina’s identity lies in the innovative fusion of technological skill and traditional craftsmanship.
Flexform’s history is a family history. Now at the third generation, FLEXFORM was founded in the furniture manufacturing district of Brianza, in Northern Italy. This is where the unique worldwide phenomenon of design Made in Italy began, in the 1960s. A territory where the history of many small crafts workshops working with wood, metal and upholstery since the early 1900s intertwines with that of the great masters of Italian design, trained in the School of Architecture in nearby Milan.
Among the original progenitors and standard bearers of Italian furniture design—the intrepid canaries when home furnishing was little more than a utilitarian cave—Zanotta has carved out an all but untouchable place in the ranks of contemporary luxury. The first to grace its catalogue with works by some of the industry’s boldest names, in sixty years Zanotta’s amassed a veritable pantheon of award-winning designs, with almost a fifth residing in permanent museum displays.
The beginnings of Flos (meaning “flower” in Latin) blossomed from a brilliant idea: to create objects, starting with a light bulb, that would change the way of life for both the Italian market and the foreign markets. The Flos Architectural line encompasses a wider, environmental vision to include the workplace, entertainment and even the non-places of mass consumption. Flos Outdoor focuses on natural spaces like gardens, parks and landscapes.
In the history of the modern bed, the year 1978 was a milestone. It was the year that Flou was founded, a company with the precise objective of innovating the bedroom and create a new ‘sleep culture’. Flou was ahead of its time and launched Nathalie, a bed designed by Maestro Vico Magistretti. In addition to the innovative design and the possibility of purchasing it ‘ready for sleep’, Nathalie was also extremely practical: a flick of the wrist and it was made. Last year, the brand celebrated its 40th anniversary with a special fabrics collection.
Moroso has been working in close collaboration with some of the world’s most talented designers to produce luxury sofas and seating since 1952. Today the company is headed by the second generation of the Moroso family- Roberto, the CEO, and Patrizia, the Art Director,- and is an example of how a small Italian artisan-owner company has evolved since it was run until the nineties by Agostino Moroso.
A leading design company, founded in 1949 by Giulio Castelli and now run by Claudio Luti, Kartell is one of the symbols of Italian design around the world. A success story told through an incredible series of products – furniture, furnishings, lighting, home accessories – that have become part of the domestic landscape, not to mention actual contemporary design icons.
One of the most successful furniture design brands thanks to its research on finishings, refinement of line and the technical quality of its details, Porro celebrated the 90th anniversary’s important milestone in 2015. Founded in 1925 in the Brianza area, by tradition the Italian cradle of high-quality furniture manufacturing, today Porro is an international brand characterized by an intrinsic ability to select, work and interpret wood.

Italian Interior Designers
Spanish by birth, and Italian by choice, Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo, Spain and studied architecture in Madrid before graduating from the Milan Politecnico in 1989. She is one of the most coveted interior designers in the world and the keywords for her work are rigour and emotion, innovation and mental comfort. She was mentored by some of the masters of Italian industrial design: Achille Castiglioni oversaw her graduate thesis, and Vico Magistretti, with whom she designed her first projects. She learned her craft in Italy and opened a studio in Milan in 2001, where she has developed a truly global enterprise. At Salone del Mobile, she showcases her work and collaborations with other brands, like with Kartell.
Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran invested in their individual experience with the profession and study of Design, Art and Fashion, and founded DIMORESTUDIO in 2003. Since that moment, they have designed and carried out every project in a personal and recognizable way: objects created by historical design masters live together with reclaimed materials and other “bespoke” objects to create and forge a particular atmosphere. A timeless visual and emotional pathway.
Besides his architecture career alongside Patricia Viel, Antonio Citterio has an amazing path as a designer. In the 2018 edition of Salone del Mobile, the designers shined with his special collections with B&B Italia. That collaboration has repeated itself once again, being presented at the 2019 edition.

Zaha Hadid Design (ZHD) was established in 2006 by Zaha Hadid and operates under the lead of Co-Directors Woody Yao and Maha Kutay. Pushing the boundaries of contemporary design, ZHD implements the latest technological and material advancements in design, in collaboration with the world’s most respected brands.
