As you already know if you’re following CovetED‘s coverage of the event, Casa Decor 2020 has officially started yesterday and it will continue until April 19! The event bets on the evolution of architecture and design, not only in Spain but throughout the world. It presents the need for living in aesthetic, functional, healthy and exclusive environments. For this 55th edition, the building that will house the projected spaces of Casa Decor is called “Calle Velázquez 21” and it is located in the heart of Barrio Salamanca. It is the twelfth time that the event is held in this stately neighbourhood of Madrid, this time in a house-palace of the early twentieth century. And the best of all? It joins all the best interior designers from Spain in a magnificent space.
The first day had many surprises in store for everyone! All spaces were covered by a mixture of the dedication and passion of their authors, as well as the inevitable touch of magic created by Casa Decor. Everyone had something to say about their work, ideas were shared and whoever was there was definitely inspired by what they saw. Without going any further, we want you to be inspired by the spaces, each section will be accompanied by a brief description of its author.
Javier Escobar is a spectacular designer from Almeria, his focus relies on households, offices, business, local commercial, he really just wants to work and do more and more, challenging the traditional design rules! “I am an interior designer with experience. For me, it is really important to design things with personality.”
This is a familiar face to our followers! Sara Folch is one of the most known interior designers in Barcelona. For more than 25 years, the interior design studio has designed hundreds of projects, being recognized not only by the present but for the positive mark it left on its previous customers for her past work. We are happy to have a photo with her, holding CovetED Magazine’s 16th Issue.
Laufen also left his mark with a very interesting design! “Although exquisite craftsmanship has always been a trademark of Laufen products, a great deal of thought goes into their design too. For several decades now, Laufen has had a positive experience of the successful collaboration with outstanding architects and designers. In the development of new bathroom suite concepts, the expectations of the designer are met by the experience and precision of modellers, product developers and engineers.”
“The works of Jaime Jurado have an enormous wealth in terms of aesthetic quality, based on an objective reality that filters through until they reach the state of serenity that their works transmit. He has done a large number of works using a wide repertoire of mixed techniques, which include the introduction of collages, to develop large-scale, very expressive and impressive works.”
“The purpose of Mandalay (Fran Cassinello) is none other than to bring exclusive pieces to your home, whether antiques, designer furniture, metal, industrial or contemporary, turn your home into a space with personality and really unique, something that, in times of globalization can make our home, a home and at affordable prices.”
We also covered the work of Blanca Hevia before! Her study concentrates on the comfort, light, the needs of their clients, areas, happiness, etc. and last, but not the least, the importance given to comprehensiveness. Turning homes into dreams is what they always aim to achieve and thanks to their decorators, everything is possible! With a focus on adaptation to each taste and style trends of the moment, Blanca Hevia wants to work and to fulfil your dreams.
Masqueespacio was also a target of our coverage before, having a different design from what they usually do! Very interesting! Masquespacio is a creative advisor working in branding and interior design. The studio is led by Ana Hernández and Christophe Penasse, where they work by thinking about the user experience and communication. Despite the functional and aesthetic aspect, they want to connect people telling a story, and design is the best weapon to achieve it.
To end this amazing space looks, we present you the work of Patrícia Bustos! The studio’s aesthetic propositions are always thrilling, bright and cutting edge; inspired by the past but also forward-looking. The Milanese avant-garde, mid-century modern, the crazy 60s and Sottsass’ Memphis style are just some of the aesthetic benchmarks alluded to in its projects.
We hope you enjoyed these spectacular environments, it is as if in each place you find a different detail that captures your attention!
