Even though China is currently the country with the most skyscrapers per square mile, the United States has always been a reference and the truth is that some of the most expensive and extravagant skyscrapers of the world are located in the biggest American cities.
The biggest and most expensive one in America is the One World Trade Center in New York City. Keep in mind we are only talking about the main building of the World Trade Center complex.
The second largest building of the World Trade Center complex is the 7 World Trade Center and this large tower cost an astonishing 700 Milion Dollars. Currently, New York City is home to 780 skyscrapers and amongst these hundreds of buildings, there are several iconic ones, like the Chrysler or the Empire State Buildings, as well as the recently named World Trade Center. Also in New York City, we have the powerful Bank of America Tower. It cost 1 Billion Dollars and was designed by COOKFOX Architects and Adamson Associates Architects. It was completed and 2009 and since then is the main building of the Bank of America on the East Coast.
We mustn’t forget the all-important New York Times Building that since it opened in 2007 became one of the most prominent tourist sights of New York. But New York isn’t the only city in America with elegant tall buildings.
The most expensive ones are actually in a city you wouldn’t imagine.According to a recent survey by Emporis, Las Vegas houses 9 out of the 20 most expensive buildings in the country. That’s amazing, right? One of those buildings is the Wynn Las Vegas that was designed by Marnell Corrao Associates and it cost 2.7 Billion Dollars.
Other powerful highlights of Las Vegas are The Palazzo or the MGM Grand Resort & Casino. They both cost more than 1 Billion Dollars and are iconic hallmarks of the city that’s home of some of the most luxurious casinos in the world like The Mirage or the Paris Las Vegas. They too made the list of the most expensive and unique skyscraper in America!
Since we are talking about the United States we must mention Donald Trump, the sitting President of the country. He has several skyscrapers with his name all around the country. The most iconic is the Trump Tower in New York, but the most expensive skyscraper of his empire is the Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago.
