2017 brought dazzling novelties to those who want to have the most luxurious bathroom in the comfort of their own house. This year, the brands Maison Valentina, Stone Forest and Villeroy & Boch stood out due to its incredible designs and innovation. Last September, the incredible Portuguese brand Maison Valentina expanded the Koi Collection and presented some high-end novelties, among bathtubs, washbasins, mirrors and accessories. Joaquim Paulo, head designer of the brand, explained that, through the creation of the new collection, Maison Valentina team understood “the position of the brand and its target, always keeping in mind that only something new and unique can attract the attention of the public”. The Petra Bathtub and Petra Washbasin combine Ibiza marble and wood and are inspired in the ancient city of Petra, where buildings are directly carved to stone cliffs. The black gloss look of the wood matching the different shades of white turn these pieces in one everlasting exclusive visual experience for the most luxurious bathrooms of 2017. The brand also released the Tortoise Washbasin, a unique product with incredible patterns and colours.
Maison Valentina has expanded the Koi Collection by adding the Koi Mirror and the Koi Soap Dish to its list of products. As with the other products of the collection, these elegant novelties get inspiration from the Japanese culture carp. The oriental mystical fish also influenced the creation of the Koi Towel Ring, a beautiful item that adapts to the Koi Collection and to most luxury bathroom designs. Also inspired by the ancient Greece, Maison Valentina released the Ella Puff, a relaxing and elegant puff that combines its softness and touch with a black luxurious colour.
The 2017 ICFF witnessed the unveiling of several new products by Stone Forest, the brand known and respected worldwide for their use of natural materials to craft products for use in kitchens, bathrooms and gardens. With a curved front profile on a polished nickel stand with shelf, the Harbor Washbasin is a transitional console for small spaces that combines an intriguing design with an attractive price point, all wrapped in a Luna Bianca Oro Marble. The North-American brand also released the Calma Bathtub, an elegant oval-shaped design carved from a single block of Limestone or Marquina Taupe, and the Pebble Seat in Onyx, inspired by the simple beauty of small, smooth pebbles.
Stone Forest didn’t stop there. The Triple Basalt Pedestal with Ore Vessel is beautifully cut from a single column of basalt and features a combination of natural and polished facets. Classic and versatile, the brand used, once more, Luna Bianca Oro Marble to create the Cerne Lav Sink, an above-counter or semi-recessed sink. After two years of searching, the brand has once again been able to source small blocks of onyx stone to create a perfectly imperfect, naturally shaped vessel sink, with the creation of the Purple Onyx Wabi Vessel.
This years’ booth #675 at BDNY was emerged in an alluring scintillation when French brand Villeroy & Boch showcased The Crystals Edition bathroom innovations, featuring Swarovski Squaro Prestige bathtub and free-standing Octagon Washbasin with design elements that have been enhanced by award-winning designer Steve Leung, an international pioneer and an award-winning architect, interior designer and product designer based in Hong Kong. The Crystals Editions brings perfected crystal artistry in truly exclusive masterpieces of craftsmanship. Thousands of alluringly scintillating gems light up your bathroom and invite you to take an extra moment to take in the inspiring sight. Steve Leung designed the luxurious Crystals Editions to achieve pure breathtaking elegance. The finest Swarovski crystals embedded in exquisite leather add refinement to the finish of the octagonal washstand and Squaro Prestige bathtub from Villeroy & Boch. Each of the more than 6,000 crystals is precision cut and applied by hand exactly as Steve Leung designed the pieces.
