With a big portfolio in shaping cityscapes in Singapore, Asia, the Middle East and beyond, DP Architects was founded in 1967 to combat the need to produce good architecture, which is not only functional and well structured but which could also fill the human spirit. Each project is a learning experience to understand what it is like to live in community and how they could create a very positive and lasting impact for the next generations, that’s their philosophy, the devotion to human activity and civic quality of the city. “Our projects serve as regional focal points, hubs of human activity and social space.”

“Responding to the Archifest 2016’s theme ‘Exhale’, DP Architects’ winning entry, RGB Pavilion was designed to inspire visitors to re-think our relationship with Singapore’s urban environment and breathe new life into it. A zero-waste pavilion made of construction netting and scaffolding pipes, multiple layers of primary colours overlap and interact to form secondary, tertiary hues – this creates a nuanced and playful urban experience.”

“The Minton is an example of a unique high-rise living concept, built on a creative interpretation of the landscape and the provision of differentiated amenities. The design takes full advantage of the site topography in the use of open spaces and landscaping to create distinctively different experiences.”

“Built-in 1879, Freemasons’ Hall on Coleman Street has been the meeting place for Freemasons in Singapore for over 120 years. Uniting the old and new into a coherent landmark, our design team fully utilised the existing spatial quality with as little change as possible to the built form while revitalising the building for modern use. Such architectural synthesis delivers a sense of continuity and permanence in built form, reframing the building’s rich heritage of the different historical periods in today’s contemporary context.”

“The key design goal for the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, a partnership between Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University Singapore, was to provide a creative and conducive environment for cross-disciplinary learning, knowledge exchange and skills-acquisition. Space requirements were analysed and classified based on functional and spatial relationships, from which a vertical spatial organisation was derived.”

We hope that you could be inspired by the desire of DP Architects to be able to communicate the public domain and the community in their study through innovative architecture.
