As it is well-known, IT and bicycle industries are the main ones that make Taiwan extremely popular. Taiwan ranks among the world market leaders in the product design sector. However, there are also other creative fields which stand out with design quality and have not been discovered yet: artful tableware, sculptural home accessories and stylish furniture. With well-shaped and elaborate products, Taiwanese designers and manufacturers produce modern interpretations of their cultural roots.  Without realising the origins, millions of people around the globe use the products from the insular state in the Western Pacific, which was formerly known as “Ilha Formosa” (beautiful island).

The up-to-date exhibits prove both the contrast and the symbiosis of tradition and modernity and illustrate the present design understanding in Taiwan.
