Studio Piet Boon is an internationally renowned design studio from Zaanstreek, in the Netherlands, recognized for its multi-disciplinary design services, a remarkable talent of balancing functionality, aesthetics and individuality into one of a kind design experiences and full-service interior and exterior design with a focus on delivering perfect harmony. And their newest design lives up to those principles, with the introduction of the monumental free-standing EDGE kitchen which gives new meaning to the term ‘kitchen living’, a space and place at the same time.

The monolithic kitchen owes its name to its barrier-free character and consistent application of dimensions which create an exciting and dynamic whole. In addition to the extraordinary proportions, the use of different materials gives the kitchen its exclusive appeal. The kitchen worktop and the dining table use Marble Macaubas (with leather and polished finishes, respectively), the cabinets are developed with a brushed oak stained Ceta grey, and the framework, plinth and table frame have a Vero Metal Gun Smoke coating.
The starting point for the kitchen’s design was to incorporate various social needs into one kitchen design. Acting as the ultimate culinary meeting point, various functions are therefore seamlessly blended into one extraordinary design where all elements come together at a 120° angle. This makes the EDGE the perfect designer kitchen for those who enjoy culinary social gatherings.
“The kitchen to me is the beating heart of a home. That’s where it all happens. With the EDGE kitchen, we want to emphasize its social function even more by combining cooking and living into one design. Here the chef is never alone. The subtle differences in finishing appeal to intuitive use. The worktop of the kitchen is rough and the top of the dining table is polished. You feel the difference in their function. The EDGE is unique and the next step in kitchen living”, says Piet Boon, Founder of SPB. The EDGE is the eighth ‘Tailored to Taste’ Piet boon kitchen concept. In following of the previous concepts, the EDGE is a translation of the brand identity and the embodiment of the studio’s progressive view on living.
