SaloneSatellite was the first event to focus on young designers, instantly becoming the unrivalled place for interface with manufacturers, talent scouts and the most promising young designers, and is again running concurrently with the Salone del Mobile.Milano. Its creation in 1998 was essentially a declaration of faith in the creative potential of designers under 35. Many of the prototypes presented in the previous 18 editions have gone into production, and many of the 10,000 designers who have taken part over the years, along with 270 international design schools, are now big names on the design scene.

Based on these premises, the SaloneSatellite has always looked to the future, and will do so again this year, with the theme “New Materials, New Design”, exploring the latest that the new materials science has to offer.

As always, a prestigious Selection Committee composed of important international figures from the worlds of design, manufacturing and communication, chaired by Marva Griffin, curator and founder of SaloneSatellite, will evaluate thousands of projects and select approximately 700 for exhibition at this 19th edition. Alongside the selected participants will be several international design schools.
