Maison et Objet 2018 RISING TALENTS: FEDERICA BIASI – Federica Biasi, born in 1989, graduated from the Istituto Europeo di Design in 2011 and worked with several Milan-based design agencies until 2014, at which point she decided to move to Amsterdam all by herself. After having observed and absorbed more of the nordic design style and aesthetics that inspire her life’s work, Biasi returned to Milan in 2015 to found her own studio. She dedicates herself mainly to product design, interior design and design consulting.

Right now, Biasi is an Art Director at Mingardo and a creative consultant with other brands including Fratelli Guzzini. She also works with ceramics, decoration and textiles and most of her work is available on her Instagram.

Andrea Branzi, her mentor and sponsor for the Rising Talents Award, claims he “chose Federica Biasi for her quintessential design and poetic ideas, which deliver subtle, yet very particular messages”.

For Maison et Objet Biasi will be showcasing a series of emblematic products using unexpected materials, as well as a few exclusive objects she designed especially for the event.

These include: a faience tableware collection, with motifs hand-painted by Christian Pegoraro (Bottega Nove) and a rug designed in collaboration with CC-TAPIS with North-African fabric patterns. Her exhibition will be framed fully within a metal structure by Mingardo.

The presence of this talented young woman leaves us looking doubly forward to the debut of the first 2018 edition of the design trade fair.design trade fair.
