An Exhilarating Look at Game of Thrones Interior Design StyleThursday 27 July 2017
The Global phenomenon, Game of Thrones is once again embracing our tv screens for its seventh season. As a result, Coveted decided to display a bit about the interior design style of the various locations and prestigious houses that are portrayed in the show.
Putting every effort into developing the perfect settings, characters and choreographed sequences which are simply brutal and beautiful at the same time, the HBO fantasy series – created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss and adapted from the George R. R. Martin novels – really knows how to attract an audience.
The Pyramid of Meeren
The interiors of the pyramid fall under the maximalist movement as they are comprised of the most exuberant pieces and gold accents, which are an indication of Daenerys prowess and state of mind to rule over the Seven Kingdoms, and let’s not forget that she has three dragons by her side.
King’s Landing interiors are characterized by a vast army of antiques which are simply perfect! The Kingdom is currently ruled by the fearless Queen Cersei Lannister who knows a thing or two about how to live the luxurious life, in other words, golden goblets and a lot of power.
Winterfall – The Great Hall
The decorations of Winterfall are best described by its rustic and natural appeal. With a motto of “Winter is coming# it is to expect that the decor follows this idea, from shearling rugs to heated stone floors, to hand-woven tapestries to carved oak doors, they surely are ready for it.
Dragonstone is reigned by a darker yet imperial ambience, just take a look at that massive throne!
As expected, the Pyke led by the Greyjoy house displays a more nautical and traditional decor. Navy and grey are the predilect colours.
Highgarden is brimming with golden roses and green fields – which are present House Tyrell’s sigil – so it would be natural that the interiors would be majorly composed of fresh and natural elements.
Perhaps one of the most visually pleasing settings in the whole series, Dorne is characterised by a colourful and vibrant decor with warm colours and extravagant patterns as the weapon of choice.
The Vale of Arryn
Although it is not considered to be one of the most authentic settings, the Vale of the Arryn is best described for its airy ambience, otherwise known as the Moon Door.
