CovetED Magazine is about to tell you about the partnership between Markowicz Fine Art, from the Miami Design District and Lulu Laboratorium in Wynwood’s burgeoning arts district. Both of them continue showcasing unseen photos of the legendary David Bowie captured by celebrity and fashion photographer Markus Klinko.
As far as it is known, Markowicz Fine Art gallery offers an ever-changing collection of artworks. Internationally renowned artists whose works are on display include Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Tom Wesselmann, and Fernando Botero. The gallery is located in the heart of the Miami Design District and offers a wide variety of artists with exceptional creative talent.
Markowicz Fine Art was the first exhibition worldwide to showcase the unreleased photos of David Bowie by Markus Klinko in February 2016. Given its local and national success, Markowicz Fine Art extended the exhibit in Miami and selected Lulu Laboratorium as the second regional location to showcase Markus Klinko’s photographs.
The collection of exclusive Fujifilm photos includes a set of 14 instant film prints of the late Bowie taken in 2001, unseen intimate images and daring shots with the artist. The limited edition prints are autographed by Klinko and will be available for sale.
World-renowned photographer Klinko collaborated with Bowie’s wife Iman for the cover of her book, “I am Iman,” and met Bowie thereafter. For almost 15 years, he photographed the late singer in multiple occasions, including the shoot for the cover of his CD “Heathen,” – one of the most recognizable images of his career – and photo spreads for glossy magazines such as GQ and Interview.
Klinko created the iconic album cover for Beyoncé’s “Dangerously in Love,” and Mariah Carey’s “The Emancipation of Mimi.” Klinko has also worked with celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Kanye West and Naomi Campbell to name a few. His portfolio of editorial clients include Vogue, Vanity Fair, The New York Times and Harper’s Bazaar. Klinko is one of the most notable celebrity photographers who has been featured in numerous art galleries and museums both nationally and internationally.
