One of the most incredible moments of the travelling in the US happened to our editing team at visiting one of the best hotels in Chicago – Trump International Hotel. CovetED was delighted to discover a lot about the hotel, its benefits and attractions.
- How would you describe the hotel? It has a signature touch?
The Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago is a luxury property situated along the famed Chicago River. The hotel is located in the River North neighborhood with close proximity to the city’s best shopping, dining, theater and nightlife. The hotel, comprising floors 14-27 of a 92-story residential tower developed by the Trump Organization, features 339 luxuriously appointed guestrooms including one-, two- and three-bedroom suites.
- What makes Trump Chicago special when compared with other hotels in Trump or in the world?
The guest suites at Trump Chicago all offer breathtaking views – either of the city’s skyline, the Chicago River or Lake Michigan. Trump Chicago has a number of signature programs including the Trump Wellness program, which offers travelers healthy and organic in-room dining options for those health conscious on the go.
During the summer months, for those looking for ultimate beachside relaxing, Trump Chicago will handle all details for a worry-free time in the sun. In partnership with Boucher Brothers Management, reservations can be made for beach chairs at Oak Street Beach (rental fee applies), complete with an umbrella and lunch order. Additionally, whether arriving via foot, city cruiser bikes, cab services or the hotel’s chauffeured Cadillac vehicles, transportation to the beach can be arranged by the hotel concierge for a seamless experience.
Those opting to enjoy the city by bike can arrange beach cruiser bike rental, complete with a detailed map of sites not to be missed such as the Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago History Museum, Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool and Chicago’s architecture and streetscapes found along the city’s lakefront bike path. The luxury beach service is also ideal for those visiting Chicago’s most popular tourist attractions including picnics in Millennium Park, a visit to Navy Pier, Chicago Architecture Foundation tours and baseball games at Wrigley Field and U.S. Cellular Field.

Sixteen, the two-star Michelin-rated restaurant featuring the modern American cuisine of Executive Chef Thomas Lents; The Spa at Trump® with 53 specially appointed spa guest rooms; the Trump Health Club; Rebar, a chic cocktail lounge; The Terrace at Trump and more.

Designed by the award-winning team at Valerio Dewalt Train Associates (who also designed the property’s two-Michelin starred restaurant, Sixteen), the unique event spaces are housed in areas of available retail space at the 92-story tower, some of which open directly onto the picturesque riverwalk. Showcasing stunning views of the Chicago River, Lake Michigan and the city’s famed bridges and architectural gems, the expert design team drew inspiration from the expansive glass and dramatic curvature of the building to mount each space while championing the unique vantage points found only at Trump Chicago.
- Can you talk about some special partnership or event?
The hotel is closely aligned with St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Each year to kick off the holiday season, the property’s annual Reindeer on the River returns to Trump Chicago and the afternoon’s special guests are sure to get you into the holiday spirit – live reindeer and Santa and Mrs. Claus! Complimentary to all visitors, the outdoor event takes place at the Riverwalk at Trump Chicago, adjacent to Michigan Avenue and accessible via both the Wrigley Building breezeway and Wabash Avenue.
This afternoon of family fun includes music, photo opportunities with the reindeer and Santa and Mrs. Claus as well as festive accessories, hot cocoa, warm cider and snacks for sale. All proceeds benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
