Exclusive Interview with Essential Home Mid Century Furniture – Coveted Magazine interviewed Essential Home during Maison et Objet 2017 and now we want you to be part of this celebration of design. The mid-entury modern lines present in its style merge important historical references from the ‘30s and 60’s with contemporary influences. The harmony between masculine and feminine, classic and contemporary, high and low, is integral to the brand’s maverick sense of refinement yet iconic style. The brand deals with different, intimate and cozy ambiences that express the elegance and the luxury that is conveyed by the use of rich material now in a home environment. It’s the mic-century modern signature that makes Essential Home irresistible to all design lovers… and not only.
What’s the concept of Essential Home?
Essential Home was born of a delightful collection of furniture, the first and only collection of furniture. NBut after that, we decided to launch as an independent brand because we saw that we had a lot of potencial and a lot of clients were asking for a bigger ranch of pieces. So, at the beginning of last year, we launched during Maison et Objet Essential Home as a furniture collection. The main inspiration is really similar to Delightfull with the Mid-century retro design. However, we are more focused on the movies and Breakfast at Tiffanys while Delightfull is more focused on music.
What about the novelties?
This year, we decided to approach the sideboards. We have two new sideboards. The Anthony Sideboard, that’s with wood veneer brass and Carrara marble. And then we have the Edith Sideboard, that is with pink velvet brass and also old marble Carrara. They are both being really famous here in Maison et Objet. We have also decided to launch our Florence Stool.
What are the next steps to the brand?
The first thing is to invest in a bigger team because we are still a baby brand with a small team. I also want to launch five more products until iSaloni Milano and a different sample box with something really notorious. We are also investing more in our marketing, side by side with our new products. Let’s see what is going to happen.
Is the Mid-century style still a trend?
Oh, I think yes. And I hope it doesn’t change. Everyone is stopping by the stand. I believe that the mix of the retro with the modern – the Mid-century Modern Design – is being really famous and the way we are able to put the inspirations from the 30s to 60s mixed with the present is not going to pass and is going to keep trendy. And we are here to make it a trend.
