Laplace Studio was founded in 2004 in Paris by the Franco-Argentine Luis Laplace and Christophe Comoy. Laplace combines modern simplicity with great elegance through the perfect use of space and light and their design concept is based on local cultures and traditions, the wise and careful selection of materials and color as well as the passion for art and craftsmanship.
The design of an amazing beach house in Mellorca was one of the projects responsible for this inclusion in AD Top 100 Interior Designers to follow in 2017 and CovetED Magazine will present you this stunning project.
Laplace Studio counts with 15 professionals, including architects, interior architects, and designers to develop impressive works, which combine the French tradition and savoir-faire with vintage furniture, exclusive 20th-century relics and bespoke furniture designed and manufactured in Paris.
In fact, the villa is like a tropical house, composed by a luxurious architecture and a refined dialogue in every place with the spectacular maritime landscape.
“Nature is so strong here that we decided to let the rock, the pines, and the sea speak rather than expose contemporary works,” explains the architect, also the responsible of the entire decoration of the villa.
Luis Laplace has imagined a very sensual house where swimming pool, Jacuzzi, outdoor showers, and terraces allow relaxation and introspection while contemplating the sunset on the horizon. One would lose almost a moment in the deep blue of the graphic pool inspired by the work of the American artist Roni Horn.
The architect designed a space with a great aesthetic sophistication. This white house with a geometric shape is embellished with cutting edge materials like rocks, marbles, precious woods, stones, and other noble materials which were used to adorn the walls and floors.
Luxury is omnipresent but never flashy. The decoration is sober, with a vintage style, combining the sophistication of French and Scandinavian design, mixed with elegant and refined furniture pieces designed by the architect.
“A successful project demands a constant dialogue with the clients to develop a thorough vision of their goals, aspirations, and challenges. This communication is essential to develop trust relationship and to deliver a project in line with clients’ expectations,” said Louis Laplace.
