Today we want to present you the internationally renowned Le Basque that dominates South Florida event scene for over two decades.
Since 1991, the creative masterminds of Le Basque have executed some of the most elaborate and groundbreaking event productions in South Florida and across the map. Building a reputation for incomparable service with true style and know-how, Le Basque offers full-service catering and production design under the helm of Alejandro Muguerza, Jim Mozina and Ian Perris. Among many high-profile and private clients, such prestigious figures include President Barack Obama and President Clinton, Senator Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Al Gore, the King and Queen of Spain, Don Juan Carlos and Doña Sofia de Borbon; international fashion houses including Armani, Cartier, Yves St. Laurent and Harry Winston; and global conglomerates UBS, Sotheby’s and Ferrari.
Le Basque offers concept design, destination event planning, full-scale production, catering, logistics and consulting in English, French and Spanish. Menus are crafted that highlight culture, lifestyle and taste, while also accommodating detailed nutritional and dietary needs from kosher and regional, to vegetarian and vegan. In 2013, Le Basque was commissioned by Hermes Homme to ideate a showcase of amuse-bouches that would underline the international fashion brand’s attention to detail. An arrangement of lobster tails, foie brulée and cheeses were served at the grand opening, which took place at the Design District’s Moore Building. Another such highlight is the Take Center Stage Gala at the Adrienne Arsht Center in 2008, where the floral theme was integrated by featuring giant paper roses that hovered just above the stage, designed by Le Basque.
Muguerza, the president and creative force behind Le Basque, credits his upbringing in northern Spain for the company’s culinary direction. A balance of tradition and innovation has defined the Basque country as one of the most highly regarded gastronomic cultures in the world. Muguerza’s heritage; his art studies in Florence; his years living in London and Brussels; and his travels around the world are some of the many influences behind his process.
Co-founder and executive vice-president, Ian Perris, has dedicated his life to working in the service industry at the most prestigious level. His perfectly British approach to service and protocol is highly regarded and balanced by creative flair for entertaining. Working with some of the highest members of aristocracy and society including notables such as The Lord Mayor of London and the late Earl Spencer, father to Diana, Princess of Wales; Perris has brought an extraordinary resume and wealth of experience to Le Basque. Jim Mozina, co-founder and COO is the strategic thinker and business-minded counterpart of his fellow co-founders. Thriving in situations that require extreme attention to detail, Mozina has honed his skill in logistics coordination and event management.
