Axel Vervoordt has always been highly regarded for his peculiar tastes when it comes to interior design. Known by many for being an antiquarian who has a peculiar relationship with classic art and antiques, he applies that very same interest in the projects he tackles. In the designer’s logic, a home needs to be surrounded by elements of furniture, architecture and other objects which reflect the honesty of their creation. CovetED will be explaining to you some essentials regarding his design philosophy.

The Belgian collector and designer have a long-standing career with very remarkable projects within his portfolio. However, despite the fact that he’s mainly known for being an antique collector for many, the projects he’s made have assured him a spotlight in regards to unique design philosophy.
Sure, considering his relation with classic and historical objects, it’s not unusual for Axel Vervoordt to insert such elements within his interiors. However, the main feature that defines his decor projects is the minimalism, which is infused with a timeless sense of history in between. It may be a little more subtle in some projects, however, the historical elements in the interiors tackled by Vervoordt are always there.
Not to mention the fact that his aesthetic approach tends to differ from the typical antiquarian who practises interior design. The Belgian curator has always been interested in art from several periods and places, not to mention a couple of contemporary elements in between. Aside from giving a sense of history to a new project, Axel Vervoordt always aims to give it a sense of timeless personality which is why many of his projects seem to be very minimalistic, yet modern.
For Axel and his team, a home should be a personal expression of the client’s soul and personality. It should be an accurate representation of his/her tastes, ideas, lifestyle perspectives and connections to the world. Be it a small or big scale project, the Belgian collector has a strategic advantage of counting with an experienced team in a multitude of areas such as history, architecture, design, project management, restoration, among other relevant areas. These are some of the main ingredients that make Axel Vervoordt‘s business a huge success to this day.
