Nate Berkus‘s Manhattan home with Jeremiah Brent is almost as iconic as himself. The entrance hall welcomes you with a Matt Connors painting mounted behind the 19th-century French pedestal table. The floor is painted in a beautiful limestone colour and the walls are ‘Benjamin Moore white’

In the dining room, the wonderment continues as you see the stunning midcentury French pendant light above the table, followed by a vintage French decorative panel which overlooks a ‘circa-1930 American cerused-oak’ table and some more ’50s Jansen’ chairs. – C’est chic!

Not only that, but there is also a ‘circa-1970’ Belgian cabinet standing between the terrace doors in the dining room. If you are wondering what’s on the table the answer is vintage Italian hurricane.

Michael S. Smith‘s nineties modernist LA home is a perfect blend of ‘Old World charm’ and ‘California casual’ that is immaculately decorated. After all, that is exactly what you expect from someone attracts A-list clientele such as – Steven Spielberg, George Clooney, and even Michelle Obama.

The dining room is furnished with a Directoire table and Karl Springer chairs, and, to give it an even more glamorous touch there is also a Jack Pierson photograph of Yves Saint Laurent’s apartment in the room. – Sometimes decorating a division of your house is a game of make-believe – ‘I love the idea of buying things that are iconic and putting them together in a way that makes me seem cooler than I am,’ says Michael Smith.

The star piece here is undoubtedly the Empire dining table which symbolizes generations of gatherings and decisions, both in times of celebration or tension. Timothy Corrigan country house is a 45,000-square-foot 18th-century château located in Loire Valley that has been completely refurbished and decorated.

The property had to be completely rearranged to fit the interior designer’s modern life needs – what was the maid’s room, the butler’s pantry, and the back stairs were torn down and in its place was created a bigger kitchen, a breakfast room, and the adjoining dining room. The vases topping the cabinet are Dutch delft from the 18th century.

As a great interior design tip, Timothy Corrigan says – “Too often, people let their house dictate how they live in it. They say ‘Well, that’s the formal living room, and I have to keep it that way’, so they make it into a formal living room and then never go in there. I absolutely oppose that! You’ve got to figure out how to make every space in your housework for you.”

Kelly Hoppen home-style couldn’t be more representative of her identity has an interior designer. The house is filled with a serene and neat atmosphere, a gorgeous modern-feel, and lots and lots of pale colours.

This beautiful dining room area in Kelly Hoppen’s London house is parallel to the living room and has the particular feature of having a table that can accommodate 30 guests. The long kitchen is also at one end of the room, giving the dining area a friendlier vibe.

According to Kelly Hoppen, it took six months to get the floor shade right; the herringbone flooring in the dining area contrasts with the dark hammered metal light above the table giving it a more sophisticated and harmonious look.

Finally, the bluestone surface of this six-metre long dining table, adds a little rustic feel to this design concept. Beyond it suspends a hammered black metal lightly with an industrial feel which along with the table, bring more vitality to the dining room.
