Patricia Urquiola x Kettal
The Roll Collection by The Kettal in partnership with Patricia Urquiola collection is called ‘Vimini’ and is based on the classic Basket Chair designed by Nanna Ditzel in the 1950s. It combines a curving wicker basket with large colourful cushions and wooden legs.
The final result is a collection that blends traditional lines with a modern, and relaxed vibe. Don’t be surprised if you feel like buying the whole collection, it has, after all, been made by one of the most renowned Spanish designers!
Carl Hansen & Son x Bodil Kjær
Carl Hansen & Son outdoors collection in collaboration with the Danish architect, Bodil Kjær, is beyond beautiful.
Featuring warm-toned teak, able to withstand changing weather conditions, this collection has a deep focus on weather resistant outdoor design solutions. The wood used in the pieces requires very little maintenance and takes on a more beautiful colour over time if you choose not to treat it with oil.
Xixi Wetland Estate by David Chipperfield Architects
David Chipperfield Architects was founded in London by David Chipperfield in 1985. The practice has since won numerous international competitions and built over 100 projects.
Xixi, a national wetland park located on the outskirts of Hangzhou, is a built landscape and an area of nature, which has been shaped by man for over a thousand years. The omnipresent relationship between landscape, architecture, and water is key to the atmosphere in Xixi.
This atmosphere has been integrated into a new development of apartment buildings.
Temptation Resort & Spa Cancun by Karim Rashid
Karim Rashid creates the “sensual minimalism” concept inspired by the human body, redefining the Cancun skyline with a spectacular 430-room superstructure filled with sensual curves and bright colours, stimulating guests throughout the resort. This resort has just been fully refurbished and is only suitable for guests over 21, who can enjoy an exclusive atmosphere of provocation and eroticism. That’s why the building is covered in bright colours and round forms, mimicking human shapes and designed to trigger feelings of attraction and interconnectivity.
Guests can also enjoy a provocative poolside experience “Sexy Pool” where fun and enjoyment are ensured by the DJs, that raise the temperature and transmit energy through their music. Relax and soak up the sun on the “Surf” designer sun loungers by Karim Rashid.
Greenwich Hotel in New York by Axel Vervoordt
The Axel Vervoordt Company is active in the fields of art and interiors & design. From the start, it’s always been a family-led business — Axel, May, and their sons Boris and Dick are active in the daily operations with our team of about 100 collaborators.
This New York City hotel is located in the city’s Tribeca neighbourhood. It features an underground pool and fitness centre, as well as an on-site restaurant and spa.

Bjarke Ingels New York Home
Bjarke Bundgaard Ingels is a Danish architect, founder and creative partner of Bjarke Ingels Group, widely known for buildings that defy convention while incorporating sustainable development principles and bold sociological concepts.
Bjarke Ingels Dumbo penthouse in Brooklyn wasn’ designed by him but is proof of his impeccable eye for not only architecture but also interior design. With 2,344 square feet of outdoor space, Ingels has bought himself four scenic terraces.
This incredible roof terrace looks like it could be a private club. Offerings in the building include a fitness room, media lounge, bicycle storage, courtyard, common outdoor space, cold storage, and a 24-hour concierge.
Michael Smith x Brown Jordan
Back in 2016, Michael Smith in partnership with Brown Jordan created three beautiful outdoor collections that to this date are still fantastic alfresco furniture inspiration.
“I love the romance of outdoor furniture,” says Smith, who grew up in California, where “Brown Jordan was everywhere. The idea of working with a brand that made something familiar, comfortable, and of amazing quality really appealed to me.”
Nate Berkus LA Home
Nate Berkus & Jeremiah Brent’s L.A. home is a ‘1960 colonial house’ filled with beautiful interior design and architectural inspiration.
The outdoor area of the house is just as special as the inside one and really provides some great inspiration for anyone in need of ideas for their patio, terrace, or garden, as you can see by the pictures.
Kelly Hoppen Barbados House
This private house located in Barbados has been fully decorated by Kelly Hoppen.
Spread over four floors, basement included, the luxury residence comprises five bedrooms, all of which are en-suite with the exception of one, and two spacious living areas on the ground and first floor.
Terraces, covered or uncovered, are present on each floor with the one on the lower level giving direct access to the beach creating a harmonious transition between indoor and outdoor space.
Philipe Starck x Kartell
Philippe Starck‘s collaboration with Kartell is ongoing but a collection that we would like to point out is the Woody Project which includes several outdoor pieces created through technological innovation.
The Parker Palm Springs Hotel by Jonathan Adler
The Parker Palm Springs is a luxury boutique hotel in Palm Springs, California, located on Palm Canyon Drive, in the Coachella Valley. The hotel was first opened in 1959 as California’s first-holiday inn.
We love the outdoors in the hotel. The Norma’s tables with bird-shaped ceramic salt and pepper shakers were specifically designed by Jonathan Adler for the hotel.
Marcel Wanders’ Prefabricated House
Rooted in a humanistic perspective, Marcel Wanders brings back humanity in the technocratic world of design, ushering in what he calls ‘the Contemporary Renaissance of Humanism.’
Eden by Marcel Wanders is a prefabricated house design for Revolution Pre-crafted.
Marcel Wanders’ prefabricated house features a relatively small glass-walled living space and a larger covered outdoor area as you can see by the pictures.
This stunning 18th-Century House located on a picturesque street in London was decorated by India Mahdavi and is a perfect example of how to do great outdoor design.
The sun shines down through the home’s light well, which has a garden on one level and a terrace on another.
The terrace isn’t just for decoration, it acutally provides a calming and elegant atmosphere that is perfect for outdoor dining.
Peter Marino’s Hamptons Garden
The entire garden is much like a rainbow land where purple flowers can be spotted to the north of the house; red to the east; pink to the south; and multihued in the west-facing rose garden.
According to Peter Marino yellow flowers when mixed with any other colour than green they look cheap, so he keeps them in a separate spot.
In the worlds of Peter Marino – “Gardening is like decorating. It’s all about placement”.
Marmol Radziner’s Wood Shop
The Marmol Radziner wood shop line specializes in hand-crafted, custom cabinets for kitchens, baths, and built-ins for the whole house. They use materials such as American walnut, rift-cut white oak, maple, teak, ash, and bamboo.
They can customize the pieces and also provide high-quality finishing services such as stain, paint, oil, and lacquer.
We particularly love this outdoor concept where wood is the statement element as it is aligned with uncompromising and elegant lines.
Hirsch Bedner Associates’ Bali headquarters
Hirsch Bedner Associates headquarters in Bali, Indonesia, provides; tailored interior design, architecture and landscape services, with staff collaborating with artisans in Southeast Asia to create “indigenous and authentic design projects for the world’s most treasured resorts.”
On its own, the resort is inspiring enough and we love what HBA created in the outdoor area.
Piero Lissoni x Divani
This open-air display where botanical rarities surprise the visitors and surround them with a timeless and magical atmosphere is a love letter to the beauty of nature. It is also a play of contrasts where the rich texture of the surfaces and the luxurious comfort of outdoor furniture by Living Divani.
Truth is, this project still inspires us all, as you can easily understand by the pictures.
