Enviable Interior Designer Eric Cohler’s Gramercy Park Triplex in NYCMonday 22 August 2016
Successful interior designer, Eric Cohler, came up with an elegant triplex in New York City. Previously, the triplex was one home which was then broken up into six units, and then back down to two triplex units. Eric Cohler and his brother Matt Cohler fell in love with the lower triplex unit and started to get to work on this project.
This Gramercy Park apartment is exceptional, a little strange, and likely to be highly coveted by most people who see it. The four-bedroom unit features close to 5,000 square feet of space, and an additional 1,000 square feet spread out over two terraces and a private outdoor garden.
The challenge for Eric Cohler’s was to create a home that his brother, the tech entrepreneur, would love. There is an abundance of windows bringing in natural lighting with views of Gramercy Park, which may have also been the reason why he went with such a neutral and sometimes crisp white color palette.

He also says that he thrives on designing tight spaces and he did a wonderful job at maximizing the space without it looking like one of those 400-square foot apartment displays at IKEA. The overall result was a tasteful and luxurious home with tons of character and a stunning view of one of New York City’s most coveted parks.
