Patrick Jouin is another of the great interior designers of our time and Coveted Magazine invites you to check some of his best design pieces and interior design projects.
Born in 1967, Patrick Jouin is one of the major protagonists of contemporary design on the French and international scene.
Since 1999, his Parisian agency has distinguished itself by the diversity of its activities: construction design, architecture, industrial design, handicraft, scenographies, and street furniture. It’s estimated, that on a typical day of walking around Paris, one encounters a Patrick Jouin design every 350 metres; He has contributed over 46,000 designs to the urban landscape.
Patrick Jouin created two agencies with one common vision.
Patrick Jouin iD for product and industrial design.
Patrick Jouin is a designer whose creativity finds an expression in industrial design for the decorative arts. With the top manufacturers, Cassina, Kartell, Alessi, Puiforcat, JC Decaux or Fermob, and for exceptional projects, Patrick found a place in the landscape of international design where only few know how to evolve with both ease and strength as he does. Patrick Jouin’s career and his design agency, Patrick Jouin ID, were consecrated by a monographic exhibition at Centre Pompidou in 2009. They were also honored with the Compasso d’Oro in 2011 for PastaPot.
Many of his creations are in the permanent collections of museums worldwide, including the “Solid” collection at MOMA, which in 2004 was the first series of real-size furniture made by 3D printing technology. Patrick Jouin is also involved in interior design projects with his partner Sanjit Manku, within the agency Jouin Manku founded in 2006.
Jouin Manku for space design
Tandem, singular, multicultural, ambitious, neither architects nor designers : Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku invent a trade at the crossroads of industrial production and the long tradition of craftsmanship.
By combining their experience and concordant conceptual/experimental approaches, they recognized the opportunity for a dynamic collaboration that would break down the boundaries between object, interior and structure.
One of the fundamental values of the agency is reinventing itself with each project by working on a unique conception. There are fundamental ideas and design philosophies that inform every project from ceiling height to door handle
A team of 20 individuals, designers, interior designers and architects work together to push back the creation.
