First Runway Fall in Victoria’s Secret History
One of the most discussed topics in the fashion industry is the need for women to support each other and to stand on their ups and downs. The unforgettable moment was during the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Ming Xi slipped and fell. As Xi straightened her gigantic flowered costume and tried to recover, Brazilian model Gizele Oliveira offered her a hand, and Leslie Odom Jr. also offered his encouragement words “Happens to the best of them. Sometimes you fall, you get back up. Fall down seven times, get up eight,” he said. This was undoubtedly one of the most talked about moments of the year, not only for being the first fall of Victoria’s Secret angel but for being visible the support and consideration inside and outside the backstage.
The Pirelli Calendar Gets An All-Black Cast
The most famous calendar in the world decided to go for a different approach. Styled by new Vogue editor Edward Enninful Pirelli goes down with all-black cast for 2018 calendar. Tim Walker, a renowned British fashion photographer, has picked a stellar all-black cast for his 12-month fable, based on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs posed along with Naomi Campbell, RuPaul, Thando Hopa, Lupita Nyong’o, Whoopi Goldberg, and other models, actors, artists and activists in the Alice-In-Wonderland-themed calendar shot in London.
Jane Fonda and Helen Mirren hit the catwalk for L’Oréal Paris’ beauty and fashion show
One of the biggest fashion moments from 2017 was when Jane Fonda and Helen Mirren walked L’Oreal’s first runway show, perpetuating one of the most dazzling and fun times of the year. “Diversity is absolutely critical,” Angeloglou said of the casting. The pair were walking for L’Oreal’s Diverse Beauties catwalk, along with models Irina Shayk and Adriana Lima, it looks from designers Balmain, Isabel Marant and others. The cosmetics giant transformed the Champs-Elysees avenue into a dazzling open-air fashion runway, showing once again that age is irrelevant and the most important thing about fashion is elegance and diversity.

Off-White Pays Tribute To Princess Diana
Virgil Abloh and his brand Off-White unveiled a collection in tribute to the royal style icon in a showcase Honoring the twentieth anniversary of Princess Diana’s tragic death. The princess was undoubtedly a reference of elegance and glamour, making many of her pieces timeless, and it was what drew Abloh’s attention, the need to eternalize Diana’s graceful style. Abloh took some of her most recognisable visual signatures- sharp blazers, cycling shorts and mismatched gloves- and blended them together into new, sleeker silhouettes. Campbell closed the modern tribute to the Princess in an outfit that called to mind both the public and private Diana.
A New Royal Style Icon Is Born
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement giving us all a new royal style star to follow. Suits actress Markle has been sky-rocketed into the media spotlight, and she is already a style reference for those who follow her and the couple after it has been made public that they were together. In her recent appearances, Meghan has opted for the classic, laid-back and stylish ensembles. From small-screen star to Princess potential, Meghan has a sophisticated, glamorous sense of style.
Gucci Vows To Go Fur-Free
Good news for the fashion industry and for the animal lovers, Gucci has finally joined Calvin Klein, Armani, Stella McCartney and Net a Porter and vows to go fur-free, the brand recently announced it will be banning Fur. The brand will never again use mink, coyote, fox, rabbit, karakul, or any other animal fur, but faux-fur, wool and other fabrics. Gucci’s President and CEO Marco Bizzarri revealed that the decision is a step towards “sustainability” for the brand. “Being socially responsible is one of Gucci’s core values, and we will continue to strive to do better for the environment and animals,” explained Bizzarri. The fur-free pledge will start with their upcoming Spring/Summer 2018 collection.
