From Saints to Sinners, The Best Looks from the Met Gala 2018 – The Met Gala (the Metropolitan Museum famous fundraiser) is known for the outrageous looks on the red carpet. Every year, the event picks up on a theme currently on exhibition and, following up on last year’s “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between”, the chosen theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”. This spectacular red carpet had it all, blasphemous looks, heavenly dresses and, of course, our beloved sinners. Being so, we’ve picked our favourite looks of the evening, sharing with you in the hope you share our artistic fashion flair. There was one clear winner of the gala’s red carpet, but that doesn’t mean that aren’t any honourable mentions.
The winner is… Rihanna! The pop sensation became a Pope-star for the evening and caught the attention of everyone with a camera on their hands. Wearing John Galliano, the overall look took 750 hours to be completed, with 250 hours to hand-sew and 500 hours to hand-embroid. From the celestial hat to the angelical coat, Rihanna really shined like a diamond on the red carpet.
The Hip-Hop trio, lead by Quavo, all wearing Versace and custom-made jewellery.
Representing her own fashion powerhouse, Donatella looked like a real-life saint in her own Versace gown.
Lilly Collins looked incredibly good in this Givenchy dress, looking like a next-level, sort of sinner nun.
A real-life guardian angel, rocking Versace.
The trio brought celestial goods with Gucci.
Priyanka brought the Middle-Age catholic vibes with her Ralph Lauren Look.
Chadwick looked straight out of the Sistine Chapel with his Versace look
Seyfried stunned with her celestial yellow Prada look.
Rosie draws her inspiration from a renaissance catholic painting with her Ralph Lauren Look.
